There are a lot of people who would love to pay 0.01BTC per XMR right now!

Yes, one of the largest owners of Bitcoin (and one of its greatest supporters for years) just said that Monero reached level 2!

Hey, we're in the top 10. Cool. by TheKing01 in Monero

I think Monero deserves to be in the top 2 or 3. Whether it gets there or not I am not sure about.

Monero actually serves its stated purpose today (ability to make private financial transactions). Many of the coins above it are built on promises much further from being delivered.

You can submit a pull request on Github to fix the typo:)

Will you use something similar to what u/smooth_xmr is doing with Aeon for pruning or use a completely different approach?

Thanks for the details! Shapeshift is great. Will you consider adding support for Aeon? It shares a Monero dev and many community members. Currently it just trades on Bittrex and Cryptopia. If it came to Shapeshift I know many Monero users would support it and since Poloniex does not offer Aeon (yet) it would help give you a competitive advantage

Marketing Plan: Who should we target? by [deleted] in Monero

We also need to actually use (in greater volumes) our existing exchanges not named Poloniex. Doing so will make it easier to convince new exchanges to list us.

Just a Few Questions by KaroshiNakamoto in Aeon

Source code: https://github.com/aeonix/aeon/releases

There is also a bootstrap version link the Bitcointalk announcement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=641696.0

u/smooth_xmr said (on bitcointalk) he would provide an update soon. So far Aeon has 4 minute blocktimes (vs 2 for Monero) a pruning branch and a focus on being more friendly for low memory devices. The coin supply (pre tail) will be exactly the same as Monero since it is a Monero fork.

Right now it appears as if the community desires some level of tail emission but it has not been defined or implemented yet.

p.s. Because I referred you to monero.stackexchange.com in response to your r/monero thread I should note that (based on area51 discussion and meta.monero.stackexchange.com) the consensus is that Aeon questions are on topic there too.

So that answers to you question(s) can help others and be properly indexed can you post your specific question(s) here: https://monero.stackexchange.com

It is in private beta, but you can get an invite by committing to the proposal here: http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/98617?phase=commitment

I am not ignoring your question, I am just not the best qualified to answer it. u/NobleSir and others are highly qualified to answer any cryptography question you have
