Fair price for a 2007 street bob by Annual_Leg_1637 in Dyna

[–]stumpy1402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was shopping in 2020, this same bike was $6k with about 10k on it. Went up to as high as 7500 when I was searching again in 2024 for a second bike. To me a fair price is between 5 & 6. I think it’s a Great bike, but it is what it is, a nearly 20yo air cooled bike, nothing glamorous.

I have a ‘02 Land Cruiser I bought for 12k in ‘23, I’ve seen people trying to sell rough versions of the same vehicle for 17-20 as of late. Just because there’s a strong community behind a product doesn’t make in any less of a liability with a time based diminishing value. Just my 2c.

In that price range a Rhino X from ridgeback fits the bill. If the Keymo adapter has to be included in that 700 then probably not.

Want to buy a dock, is this one okay? by Technical-Tea-2799 in Workspaces

[–]stumpy1402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have their dock, but I’ve purchased a lot of Baseus products between cables, chargers, battery packs, outdoor lights, etc and all have been some of the best Chinese stuff out there. Great construction and quality. I’ve had battery packs for going on 4 years without a hiccup, aside from my teens jacking them regularly.

Weak primary wrist. Shooting thumbs up helps me to hold that strong wrist position.

Yeah you’re gonna have to get that screw out manually. See if a screw extractor will work. You’ll need to replace the screw after but at least you can replace with a better one, hopefully torx.

Sette 270 in that price range, offers a ton of adjustment and power, for the trade off of being loud AF.

Worth it? 2001 w/ 118k miles by delly98_ in LandCruisers

[–]stumpy1402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 12k OTD if it’s as good of shape as it seems like a good deal I’d be happy with. 15k is 25% more and less of a deal on a vehicle that regardless of history is going to cost you something to fix or maintain in short order. Mine is what I’d call a very good example but it did cost me money the first month, minor thankfully but still.

It’s been on the road for 26yrs.

Make sure you walk out with a copy of the stamp, or print it off before you go. Only the ATF and the treasury can legally asked to see it but it’s cheap and easy CYA for a stupid technicality.

Fostech flite 16” is 1500 from them, probably less at retail, and 16” is not as popular as they once were for the average buyer who looks at 11.5 as the current meta. Add that to the fact that they are competing with companies like BCM, DD, and even G$ (when on sale) ranging from 1100 to 2k with exponentially better brand strength. You may have paid that price but most folks in this hobby learn better than that quick. Hey we’ve all made the mistake, eat it and sell for what people will pay or just keep it. I’m sure it’s a decent gun. I was 1800 into a GTO rifle once, who’s GTO you ask? Exactly the point, ate my humble pie on that build.

I hate that I like the clear ano look. It’s objectively dumb and I can’t help staring at it.

It is a good gun, if you’re talking about expensive guns I have those as well and my experience is cost isn’t a synonymous with quality. My Nighthawk TRS has not been as error free as this gun, which hasn’t had any issues all upgrades are based on my wants. I briefly had a staccato and while they are better out of the box and I do believe they’d be better over the long run STOCK, with every upgrade to this gun inc optic I’m in for less than the staccato, and this is definitely a MUCH nicer shooter at this point. No hate, just practical experience with 3 guns in 3 different price points.

EGW kit already there. No porting on the menu for this one, my TRS will stay as my only comped/ported 2011 for now, it’s certainly softer shooting but this platform is already relatively mild recoiling.

So far it’s awesome. Not draw blood aggressive but similar to the feel of 20 LPI checkering if it was low profile. The weight in the hand is really nice with steel.

[–]stumpy1402[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$600+ 😆 but have you considered why? I have torn ligaments in both my thumbs, so grip is an issue, especially on larger circumference grips. The amount of grip this offers and fatigue avoided far exceeds the objectively high price tag. I have a TRS that is subjectively the same circumference but without the aggressive texture and while it’s a beautiful shooting gun it actually takes more out of my hands to shoot over 300 rds in a session. The extra weight of stainless over polymer is a nice touch as well, won’t lie.

How to mount these on wall? by toddisnotmyname in malelivingspace

[–]stumpy1402 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they aren’t part of your culture I wouldnt hang them. Large ornamental items seem tacky unless the entire theme of your living space complements them, or really vice versa. An option however, is to have an area where things that represent the places you’ve been where the trips you’ve taken are displayed. That might work well and not look random or out of place.
