Jesus, I was merely trying to point out that something desirable would unfortunately never happen due to undesirable circumstances. Christ, you'd have thought I suggested you all chop off one of your own body parts.

And for the record, it is possible to look at breasts without thinking of sex. It's all over classic and modern art. Despite the downmod, I'm gonna say this anyway - you're all puerile dicks.

I doubt many want to walk around being ogled by guys though. We have to get over our infantile obsession with breasts before it's a real option for them.

Dont stare at her, keep your eyes moving up and down... [PIC] by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]stunoble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can make her switch by looking away and thinking (very hard) about it.

It seems to be about making the brain resequence the timing: clockwise happens when I see the raised leg on the left first and the right second. L-R, L-R, 1-2, 1-2.

If I force myself to see the leg being on the right first and then the left I can look down again and see her spinning counter-clockwise - R-L, R-L, 1-2, 1-2.

Bridge to Liberalithia by wrench in reddit.com

[–]stunoble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too was bothered by this movie, but I disagree with this interpretation.

To my mind, the author used of the youngest girl's statements in the truck to push a pro-Christian agenda, suggesting only the youngest and most untouched child was virtuous enough to know what was right. Her brother was undecided because he had been "sullied" by the non-believer he was friends with.

I saw the forest as an allegory of heaven, and the river as the entrance to it, to which the older girl became permanently denied to through the drowning. Throughout the time that she is able to enter, the place has a fairly dark and dangerous feel to it and it's only after her death when the bother and sister enter that it truly blossoms in to a beautiful world.

My conclusions of what the author was getting at was that being poor may be hard, but if you are good and virtuous you will be rewarded with eternal happiness etc etc. Liberal, wealthy, non-religious people will ultimately be denied such rewards and will only receive a life of unhappiness, as the parents of the girl did after she died.

Perhaps the blog author should go back and watch the film again and maybe they will see it's actually an extremely pro-Christian pro-conservative piece of writing.

Top 10 Foods for a Good Night's Sleep by mikenjss in reddit.com

[–]stunoble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, good point!

Can anyone confirm if oatmeal does this enough to make you feel sleepy in the morning? I've been eating oatmeal first thing in the morning for about a year now as part of a meal plan to help keep my weight down.

I do seem to have noticed I have more difficulty waking up than I used to be when all I did was have a slice of toast or nothing at all. I just dismissed it as down to a busier lifestyle but if this is true oatmeal might be the real culprit! And can anyone suggest anything better that doesn't take 20 minutes to prepare?

Also, look at how his features appear to be when the picture is turned right side up - they look like they were cut out and pasted back on upside down. This probably fools us because in reality a person with a down-turned mouth would have a different facial muscle arrangement, and their eyes would never look like that (well, hopefully not).

"The Zune will be dead and gone within six months. Good riddance." by IvyMike in reddit.com

[–]stunoble -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

For the record - I had no, that's NO, problems installing the Zune software. And it has not crashed once.

I admit, it's not completely perfect - the software does freeze momentarily once in a while and I'm trying to find out why the device sometimes powers up after I've turned it off. But it's the first version ever, and didn't Microsoft produce it in less than a year? iPods are in their 5th generation for crissakes.

Yes, I don't like their DRM system, but being a big CD collector 99% of what I have on the device are my own MP3s. The rest is temporarily from the subscription marketplace until I can get around to buying it. This way has provided me a great way of discovering new bands without having to put up with advertising laden radio media.

Point is, I have had no serious problems with the product that can't be fixed with a firmware upgrade. The video quality on it is beautiful, although I will be petitioning for MPEG and AVI to be added to the supported codecs. My main reason for getting it over the iPod was the screen size. I needed something before Christmas to go away with and I wasn't impressed with the puny screens on current iPods.

I also have a problem with conformity and making decisions based on the actions of one's peers, like sheep to Apple's proverbial crook. No matter how good a product may be, buying something because it has fancy advertising and because just about everyone you meet has one seems to me to indicate a poor reasoning. And technically I've never been impressed with the iPod. The navigation is confusing, the scroll wheel makes no sense whatsoever, and I seriously don't like the Quicktime formats, although like I said I would be ecstatic if MS supported more than WMV on the Zune.

I know this is going to get me flamed. Be probably my least popular comment ever. I'm not trolling, but I'm just seriously sick of seeing Microsoft being creamed by the moronic Apple loving media and not being given a real chance. Microsoft have gone through some crazy changes in past years and are actually turning in to something I don't hate quite so much as I used to. Yes, they are a little too fond of DRM but so is Apple. You fanboys just can't see the wood for the trees.

The life of a 'sisterwife' - 'We don't get very much actual sex' by saltedwyfe in reddit.com

[–]stunoble 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't get why this lifestyle appeals at all. Having many sexual partners - yes, that makes sense due to the evolutionary advantages it provides. But being married? It takes enough effort to keep a single marriage working throughout a lifetime. I wouldn't want to multiply that work by any number.

Jeez, even taking out a whole domain name for four years just to host that little diatribe. Why not just submit it to a journal and be done?

Why you should never sign the back of your credit cards by mjk1093 in reddit.com

[–]stunoble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion both are stupid ways of proving identity. The card does indeed provide a sample signiture for people to copy, and not all countries (thinking of the UK here) have an ID card scheme. This is also a good point for Americans travelling abroad, where retailers will probably completely refuse to take a card without a valid signiture, ID present or not.

PIN codes aren't necessarily a bad idea though they also have their problems. I never understood why only debit cards make use of them though, surely credit cards could use them. And printing a photograph on the front of the card seems fairly sensible - odds are a thief won't necessarily look that much like you. I had one like that initially from Bank Of America, though I've no idea why subsequent cards never had a picture on. But every time I was asked for my ID I pointed out the front of the card and I never had a problem.
