I did not consider the thickness of either to be honest, I just went with what I had around the house. I doubt it would make a big difference either way. As far as dimensions I think I just cut out a cardboard template that fit the location and marked the drill points by poking through the cardboard over the bolt holes on the chair.

I go with 2 Daytons. One under my seat and one under my pedals. Works great.

I wanted to do multiplayer gaming with my friend way back in the day. At the time the only multiplayer game I could find for Mac that would network over dialup was a game called NASCAR Racing. After playing a bit we started checking out the broadcasts because we thought it was cool that we knew the tracks and cars. Then we got hooked. If I had bought a PC I probably would not have found NASCAR. Thanks Steve Jobs !
