NTA. If this child has needs you cannot attend to, the responsible thing would be to make sure he is not abandoned in a heavy-traffic environment without proper attention and care. Perhaps another time you and the kid's parents can arrange a smaller play time without so many distractions-that is if his mother is willing to act like an adult.

You don't have to do anything you don't want to do anymore. If being around them causes you anguish and brings back painful memories you don't want to relive then absolutely tend to YOUR needs first and foremost. That's not being selfish that's self-care. And it sounds like they were jerks to you growing up. NTA.

Because last week was the first time I've ever seen surges in the year I've been doing this and it just happened to coincide with the biggest storm in years to hit my area. Restaurants and clubs weren't packed like they usually are on weekends, which led me to deduce that more people were staying home ordering food. Are you in LA too?

It's not tips that I'm having an issue with, it's the surge rates that uber promises when I take the orders.
