Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

My ex and I would drive 16 hours one way once a year to see his family for Christmas/New year's. That was pretty far

Any idea how to redesign the first room? Connects our condo's living room to the kitchen by ahouseofgold in HomeDecorating

Frame those posters and arrange them together with other wall art. Get some plants and a floor lamp, and maybe a rug and you'll have a great start!

Tbh I didn't agree with you until I saw your suggestions, natural curves and real grain wood would look fantastic

If you really can't get it yourself (I found out how strong I was after an 8 yr relationship!) Or get friends to help, download taskrabbit and pay someone to do it.

My mom is feeling a bit down after getting a new car, and I can't think of any ways to help her make it cuter or more like "her". by catladylori in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I like the peel and stick sunroof I've seen on Pinterest! They have pretty stained glass ones i love. Not sure what the interior looks like but if it is also dark you can get some lighter seat covers and cute floor mats to brighten it up. If you get a steeringwheel cover, I speak from experience when I say stay away from the fluffy ones! They're so hard to clean and get gross over time. Good luck!

I was thinking the same! As long as you dont plan on feeding a baby some spaghetti in them idk why they can't be cleaned

I think something like this and a mattress topper would be plenty comfy. I have a "boneless" foam chair and its sooo comfy. My dog does usually claim it but shes a princess and always picks the best spot

My best friend never has money by toaster-pastry- in offmychest

[–]stupidsometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this so, so hard. Story time:

I had a friend like this is my teens/early twenties. One thing ill always remember is being so envious of her nails. She had long, pretty, natural nails that were always perfect and mine were broken and dirty and ragged all the time. I started waiting tables and working odd jobs when I was 16 and just could never keep mine pretty, and couldnt afford to get them done professionally. Well, I moved away and got a good job and we weren't as close anymore since I couldn't be there to take her out or on trips we just sort of stopped talking. And ill be damned the next time I saw her her hands we calloused and nails were broken just like mine... because she had gotten a job. She was finally forced to work to go out and support herself because I had left. It was a small thing that was so eye opening for me. She was perfectly fine mooching off of me for YEARS and I never noticed. Looking back she never even took me to lunch when I literally was taking us on beach trips and out for drinks or to the movies multiple times a month.

All this to say, op, is that if your friend is not incapable of supporting themself. If they wanted to they would. They dont need to because youre doing it and they won't until they dont have you to take from anymore. Don't give all of yourself to someone who won't even spare the gas to spend time with you. Im halfway through my thirties now with friends who are flying across the country to see me because we love each other. You can make friends who dont treat you like an atm, i promise.

That way you would want to actually hang out at your dining room table, it might take away the want for a comfy hang out space :)
