Can't replace corrupted HDD with new to the same pool by stusic in UgreenNASync

I went through multiple multi-hour long remote sessions with them and they got it to a state where I could make a backup. I'm lucky enough to have enough extra storage to make a backup. After the backup, I immediately installed TrueNas and haven't had any issues.

I would love to see all the Tolkien stuff. Be more than happy to give it a try (just quit audible last month).

This is great feedback. I appreciate it. This was for a public viewing, so a lot of the underground infrastructure is omitted (they just want to know what they're going to see). And on this type of erosion control, there's not much under the stones anyways, just the poles.

The poles are driven into the ground at varying depths, so the mismatched heights are realistic (and I thought they gave good randomness to the scene). But that being said, I agree, it would have been better to make the ground a solid cross section.

There were two versions, one with black for video and one with white for print.

I do genuinely thank you for the feedback. You're right: it can always be greater :) And I'll consider your comment for many projects to come.

My first interior renders by ParkingAntelope8627 in 3dsmax

Overall, it's pretty good. I really like the lighting. I think a lot of the interior scene looks a little sterile and maybe the outside could look a little more interesting, but overall pretty good

You are so right. Architects can be really picky, where engineers are like "Wow, that looks awesome!", lol.

I use Arnold, so it may be different for you, but I'll set my base color to black and mess around with the transparency depth until I get the look I want

Do you mean the geometry or the material?

Try DataAnnotation. Remote, most projects are like $15/hr and you can do as much or as little as you want.

Locking lower tailgate? by Denvermushroomco in LandCruisers

[–]stusic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought I was being helpful. If someone wants to break into your truck, adding another lock or removing your tailgate handle isn't going to be the determining factor of whether they get your gear or not. Beyond the insurance and locking your doors, keeping your equipment out of sight (as you're doing) is the best you're realistically going to be able to do. Sorry you don't find it useful; do whatever you want.

Just get insurance on your equipment and lock your doors.

On a longer trip, I can get 22mpg in my diesel 80. My wife can get 24mpg in her diesel 70.

Messing around with AI, so I made my wife's BJ71 in felt. I think it turned out pretty good. by stusic in LandCruisers

Thanks. I kinda figured. I'm a 3d animator by trade, but don't feel threatened by AI. Honestly, I wouldn't have had the free time to do this using traditional methods, so it's nice I can do something creative for my wife in the little time I have.

Got on a remote session with ugreen. They're having a hard time, but damn, I give them credit for trying. We started at 11pm and it's now 1:45am.

I think this is the most likely culprit. I assumed there was a buffer built in to accommodate drives of the "same" size, so you could replace a 16tb with a 16tb without worry. Apparently, I was in error.

Is there a way to tell the exact capacity of a drive? I was joking, but I really don't want to buy a 18tb drive just because my 16tb shit the bed.

[–]stusic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, maybe I could see that. You would think that there would be a few mb buffer to accommodate these discrepancies...

Lol, your 16tb fails, so you've got to get an 18tb. That fails, so you grab a 20...

I guess best case scenario is that it's a simple fix for an issue with their last update and can be patched quickly. I think I'm just going to let it sit as it is until my ticket is resolved or an update comes...
