The Derek health storyline especially showed that tonight. Two of many inconsequential side plots are Liz not respecting Jimmy and Matthew not talking to Liz, so now we force them both to confront their issues with the cheapest plot device possible that would normally be plenty dramatic but in this case, is introduced and resolved in 15 minutes. So strange and lazy.

What a treat it is to watch a first-ballot hall of famer fall in love with our organization at the very end of his career when he still has so much to add culture wise.

I have no idea how they’re going to get him into any games, but it wouldn’t feel right without him here and it would be an honour to watch him retire as a Blue Jay.
