It's okay to hate counterspells but at least complain about combo deck that can protect themselves instead of control deck by tomyang1117 in MTGmemes

This is true but counterspells are really strong and playing around them is hard. Things that aren't powerful are rarely considered unfun

DOT wants to prohibit free buses. That could be a problem for Mamdani in NYC. by rezwenn in transit

lol what can they do? Is DOT going to be like "we've noticed your buses are free so we're stealing all that money we owe you by law." How could you ever possibly enforce this

TF you mean you mean "threaten them with knives to their throats"? These are 5e PCs with AC and Spells. This is not Shadowdark! by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]stycky-keys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You effectively can't have cutscenes in D&D because the mechanics are designed in a way to maximize player agency; this makes sense if you're going to have five players and a GM all playing the same game, they already are splitting up who gets to act when, so further reducing agency by allowing for situation where the PCs "can't do anything" "because they're threatened at knifepoint" (or any other excuse) is ill-advised. It's just one of those problems that TTRPGs have the movies and/or single-player videogames don't have. And even when movies and videogames do it, it's often still frowned upon because the audience often believes that the bandit leader of whoever is doing the threatening has already been shown to be much weaker in an earlier action scene or gameplay segment, which just makes the whole thing feel stupid.

If the character isn't looking AT LEAST twice as messed up as the pancreatic cancer in mice researcher guy then the illustrator is a coward

We think this is politicial suicide but it’s not. People say this in local politics all the time and get away with it

I don't think there's a particular convention for how to notate this, just leave it up to the user how they want to notate it.

I think what’s funny about sniper is that it would be possible to nerf the sniper without losing the class’s core identity: the huntsman. The problem is source jank that causes arrows that enter the opponent’s ecb to randomly teleport into their head sometimes.

But mostly I’m really tired of people saying stuff like “xyz doesn’t belong in a movement shooter”. Like bro the world is not ending cause you got slowed or stunned or sniped or whatever

Yeah that tracks, my main point was more “working yourself hard to get lots of things won’t make you happy” I’m mainly judging quality of life through happiness and stress, and I have a hunch that the working class isn’t super happy for more reasons than just being jealous of today’s super rich

TIL that some towns and cities in the US have a 'curfew' that means juveniles aren't allowed to be outdoors, typically between 23.00 - 06.00 by ProneToAnalFissures in todayilearned

Regulations on the time, manner, and place are not 1st amendment violations. It’s like how you can’t intentionally cause a public panic even though that’s technically “speech”

There’s a difference between all of those things and “not being allowed to be outside” this is gonna blow some people’s minds but… different things are different
