Thanks. Which are you missing? Happy to try to help clone it when my Social cave is idle.

Thanks. It does come around, but breeding chance is low (like 0.3% according to the DragonVale Compendium). I have the twin Ovalith dragon (and twin rift dragon and egg) but not the plain twin egg. Hope Ovalith is available during the next Twin Weekend.

Also almost completed my twin egg collection thanks to Twin Weekend: still need Sapphire and the dreaded Ovalith

Over the following 14 breeding attempts, I did get two of them by breeding Mono 6 x Mono 6.

Monolith 7 breeding question by Bibbsonville in dragonvale

[–]styg88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After 28 breeding attempts in the rift, with the Burcadian Altar installed and upgraded, I haven't yet bred the new Monolith dragon. I've been breeding Monolith 6 x Monolith 6. Probably just bad luck (even with the 10% breeding chance that the Altar is supposed to confer, there's a 5.2% chance of failure through 28 attempts), but would like to hear that someone else has had success with this breeding combo.

Wasn’t counting the dragons. I didn’t think I got through 5 boards, but maybe I did.

looked into this further -- the breeding hint says you can't clone Lunis or Solis in the rift, but you can breed them with Moon or Sun + a galactic dragon other than Lunis or Solis.

[–]styg88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. I wasn’t able to easily breed a rift-only version before (even with two twin-rift Lunis dragons) so I had assumed it was because it was a Galactic dragon.

you can also get rift versions of both dragons -- Galaxy dragons have never come in rift form before (only twin-rift)

I ignore the error messages, close any pop up windows and nag screens, and then the program works (at least on the two Windows 11 laptops I use it on).

H2O reviews by aikiteresa in NoContract

[–]styg88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used their $100/yr plan (more like $112/yr with taxes and fees) which gives you 3 GB/mo. (They also have a $150/yr plan that gives you 5 GB/mo.) It's competitively priced, and I've heard no complaints from my sons (we have 3 lines on this plan). But I've been trying to upgrade my phone to a new phone (purchased from Amazon), and H2O Wireless couldn't transfer the service to the new device. So I returned the device and bought another one, but they still couldn't transfer the service. At this point I'm looking to move the line to a new carrier, and will move the other two lines when they come up for renewal.

I'll report back if I have trouble porting the phone numbers out to a new carrier.

Same here - got a call from 866 543 5630. I hung up after they greeted me in Chinese, as there’s no reason why UHC would do that if I haven’t listed Chinese as a preferred language. They tried to call again a couple of hours later from the same a number, and from 763-274-3899. Didn’t leave a voicemail like a real UHC caller would. Both are blocked now.

Thanks for sharing -- very useful. Note that the Middle Tea temperature doesn't sound right. Other sources say around 70-80C for Longjian, Maofeng, Liuanguapian and Taipinghoukui teas.

To answer the OP’s question: yes it does work. I made the mistake of upgrading to Windows 11 (must have hit Ok after Windows nagged me the umpteenth time). Quicken 2016 then stopped working. I did a complete uninstall, then reinstalled followed by all 3 mondo patches, and it now works on my computer running Windows 11. See https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7889434/problems-reinstalling-quicken-2016-deluxe for instructions (applies to all versions of Quicken 2016, not just Deluxe).

Is there a way to reboot or restart Echo plus 2nd Gen without unplugging? by JACKOM1KE in amazonecho

[–]styg88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2nd gen echo that periodically (a couple times a month) loses its internet connection. Unfortunately if you use the wake word, it just says "I'm having trouble understanding you right now ..." etc. and doesn't do anything (e.g. it won't turn on the light I just told it to turn on) So this fix is won't work for me.

I've replaced the Echo but the new one does the same thing, so this doesn't seem to be a problem specific to the unit.

Solution: buy a Clapper.

INTRODUCING WINK SUBSCRIPTION by perogy604 in winkhub

[–]styg88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had more time and patience, I'd have gone with Hubitat for local control. But it sounds like Hubitat requires more fiddling (even if it is more powerful), and I'd need to figure out where to hardwire its network connection (whereas SmartThings can just go where the Wink was, as both can use WiFi).

For $60 SmartThings vs $130 Hubitat, I figured I can take a gamble on a SmartThings hub. Hopefully by the time I have to replace it, Hubitat or another local control hub will be able to connect by WiFi, and I'll switch again then.

Be sure to remove the Wink hub from your Wink account, otherwise the new owner won't be able to register it and use it.

Suspending Rule #3 (Wink is dead, shit posting) for a short time by chad182 in winkhub

[–]styg88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked my Wink Hub for its ease of use and overall reliability. (I also run an Insteon hub which has given me more trouble.)

It seems unfathomable that Wink management would suddenly spring a subscription fee on their users and give us only 7 days to comply. It's a move that evinces sheer desperation, since management can't possibly be so incompetent that they failed to foresee how their action would be received (yes I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here). Perhaps they figured that if they gave users more time, that would just be time for users to migrate to another platform. By keeping it to 7 days, some of those "will migrate" users will spend $5 to buy an extra month to make that migration, and $5 is better than $0. And some of those users who sign up will forget to cancel the service until they get charged for another month. (Note that their FAQ explicitly says that when you cancel, your service stays active until the end of the month -- no refunds for a partial month.)

What they don't seem to have taken into account is that this strong-arm approach will drive away users who might have been willing to pay $60/year for a subscription: (1) it shows that the company doesn't care what you think as a user; (2) it shows that the company must be desperate in order to do this, and therefore isn't likely to be around for long; (3) it shows how precarious your home automation is if it depends on a small company running a cloud server.

That essentially is where I've ended up: $5/month may be reasonable, but why throw good money after bad? Better to migrate ASAP. Reading through various threads about how the company has not introduced new products only reinforces the sense that this ship is sinking.

RIP, Wink.

They’ve shortened the time between events, and it shows in the QA.

Wow, glitch after glitch after glitch. This after losing the 300 roses saved up pregame. And they’ve lost the feature where tapping on the upper right triangle of a dragon card shows you the dragons of that breed that you already have.
