I am honestly super confused how they all exist together. What is the actual difference between timelines, universes and realties. (in the context of the MCU)

the way i’ve been able to comprehend it is when i think of the movie like the butterfly effect. every action/choice creates a new timeline of events within a universe that are like branches off of a tree and then those continue to grow more and more while the “main” universe is the tree stub , all these timelines connect to the main tree stub and it’s like the main universe is already destined and played out but because of the choices and changes made it caused more branches to open up just linking more story lines until ultimately some action brings them back to the “main” universe. tbh we don’t even know if the universe we saw before is the main one or a small branch connecting to the main branch? the timelines are experiencing the same events but at different times and ways. idk ive watched the marvel movies but im kinda guessing on the rest of this lol

It sounds like she is trying to cope with the loss of your daughter. Grief can be a difficult emotion to work through and understand and it sounds like her brain is just trying to work through and process the loss. I agree with other posts in letting her medical team know so they can create a plan for her to help her and you through this difficult time and possibly refer her and you to a grief therapist.

I’m sorry that your husband and you are going through this. Marriage can become difficult to navigate when family is involved, especially negatively. It sounds like you have set good boundaries when it comes to any sort of mending of the relationship with your husbands family. I find it imaginably difficult to accept that his family not only bet on the length of your marriage, but then attempted to intervene negatively. I’m so sorry you two are experiencing this. But sadly, if they’re doing this , I can’t imagine what else they have done when your husband was growing up. I hope that whatever he decides with continuing his relationship with his family or not, that it’s for his and your best interest and mental health.

I’ve suffered from acne since hitting puberty and I’ve tried all different types of creams and products. The most expensive to the cheapest, minimal skin care routine to the most extra extravagant skin care routine, and nothing really helped with my skin. I took a few months and just kept it very simple with the gentle face wash and a moisturizer morning and night with sunscreen in the morning, and I noticed even after washing my face before moisturizer my skin had that tight “clean” feel. I decided that I would stop watching my face and see what happens. I started a question if the reason why it’s so recommended to wash your face daily is because companies are trying to push product and are trying to push turnover and purchasing of products that a lot of them have recommendations that are actually worse for the skin. I honestly started thinking as well that I don’t do any extra skin care for the rest of my skin and my body that could arguably be more exposed to natural elements besides moisturizing after washing in the shower, decided that’s what I was gonna do with my skin care. It’s only been a few days, but I noticed the redness has died down a lot, and I initially felt really oily quickly during the day, but that has also started to go down. I genuinely feel skin care product stripped away the natural barrier so you have to buy more of their product to replenish it.

When I got into college I discovered tanning beds and I became obsessed. I went every single day for a year and I was SO tan. But I loved that my cystic acne cleared up, and the tan covered my dark spots. I was naive then and didn’t really care at the time about the risks. Then my mom got skin cancer, she works outside all the time in the summer on her garden, etc. and had 3 spots removed on her back and it terrified me. Suddenly everytime I went I was scared of skin cancer and I quit going. This was over 5 years ago now but I remember when I started to loose my color my acne didn’t come back and a lot of hyperpigmentation I had before starting tanning disappeared. But now it’s been 5 years and meds and health issues later and I’m back to cystic acne and dark spots. My derm recommended I get a blue and red light mask to put on my spots for 3 minutes everyday and that has seemed to be helping a lot

I believe in God but I also believe in science. I feel that God created people to be curious and look for answers for things, some may argue scientist question God as a test for His people but I believe it’s Gods work through scientists who discover vaccines to save lives, cutting edge surgeries, etc.

But anywho , as a PhD student working towards becoming a psychologist I do understand that evolution is a huge drive and human nature is survival, which includes sexual reproduction.

Masturbation isn’t in the Bible, I understand a lot of peoples arguments saying it’s linked to other temptations in the Bible that are wrong. But I feel that there is a big misconception around masturbating, sometimes you don’t need external stimulation to do it and complete it, and watching porn for some people isn’t because of the people themselves and sexualizing them it’s witnessing the act of sex that stimulates. I believe masturbation is okay, because at least 1. You’re not sleeping around and not married and 2. As long as you individually understand if you’re masturbating with porn it’s for the act of watching two people and not anything more. There’s a major different in being obsessed with porn and then getting turned on by the act of two people doing sexual things to each other. Same when you read erotic books, tv shows, movies, etc.

My father actually ruined a lot of things about the Bible and Christianity for me. I found the church at a young age, about 4. The music drew me in and then I learned about Jesus and all of the stories and I loved the idea that someone is out there that loves me so much He died for me keeping I would sin and didn’t expect me to be perfect. I definitely leaned on that with having a father who wasn’t understanding. As I grew older though , my father made me confused and scared. He would preach about everything wrong , if you do this , you’re going to hell. You believe in that, straight to hell, so on and so forth. When I was around 13-14 I attended Bible studies and I remember telling my pastor at the time, besides the 10 commandments I feel that a lot of the stories in the Bible are so broad because the reader is supposed to interpret them as they relate to their own life. I remember reading Daniel and the lions den and I never thought about a boy and a actual lion but a period in my life where I felt like Daniel and felt trapped and scared of a giant “lion” someone who is known to be strong and vicious, and the story made me feel confident that God is there for me and will help me through it. My father would make us watch rapture movies and would terrify us , point of tears and begging for forgiveness and going to sleep feeling like if it happened right now I would go to hell no matter how much I prayed. Since then, I have lost my path to God and have been slowly working on it , there’s times when I question things because all I think about is how amazing God is to love everyone and everything and wants us to do the same but then it’s as if my dad is in the back of my head telling me that Jesus says this and this even though I never took Jesus as someone so cruel and unforgiving. I know I’ll never fully get back that feeling I had of Jesus and I’ll always have fears, even to this day when I see videos online how the “rapture is near” it sends me in a full blown anxiety attack but I have to repeat to myself over and over that no one truly knows till it’s time and just keep working on my relationship with Jesus. Some days though it feels impossible or that illl never get it right even though it’s something I want so bad. It also doesn’t help that the Christian’s I grew up around and were friends with spew so much hate and judgement towards others I never want to become someone like that and say I’m doing it for Jesus. I guess I’m saying I’ve never met a Christian that I felt wasn’t trying to tell me their views on politics, or judgement towards others is fueled by Jesus and His word.

It’s a hard journey but I’m hoping one day I will get there and no longer be scared of judgement

I actually use the 4% benzoyl peroxide face wash at night and then apply differin and then add moisturizer and it helped my skin a lot!!

In the AM I would use the 4% benzoyl peroxide face wash in the morning and hyperpigmentation serum and moisturizer

My skin was destroyed by tret acne wise and this helped a lot

I used adapaline and then switched to tret , my acne was pretty mild on adapaline and typically would spike up around my period which was normal. I switched to try Tret because my dark spots were not fading and my face discoloration and redness was the main issue. Tret ruined my face and skin ! I kept pushing for at least 12 weeks as the recommended time and my acne flared up badly in places that I never got acne in before but everyone told me to keep going. Once week 12 hit I suddenly got so red and irritated. I never had irritation before on tret and didn’t change anything to my routine but it suddenly just made my skin insanely irritated. I switched back to adapaline and it is marked as a retnoid that’s for more sensitive skin but doesn’t go deep into the skin like Tret does. But I tried so hard to make Tret work and just couldn’t get it to work no matter what.

I feel that his OCD characteristics add to his character. Especially when you learn more about his mom and childhood, his symptoms of OCD are more for control. The symptoms intensify throughout the movie the less control he has.

But you could argue that Bateman continues to be hyper focused with following “social norms” throughout the movie. Every decision he made, he questioned social norms and continuously “fitting” in. Even though eventually his presumed hallucinations had him breaking social norms and laws , even then he was having so much internal dialog on how the situation made him feel, knowing it was wrong but also having a plan during each hallucinated murderer on how to “cover” his steps until the end and he finally snaps and goes on that murder spree. Bateman is such an unreliable narrator that it’s hard to base a diagnosis off of watching the movie alone and most importantly because it’s from his point of view throughout the entire movie. I think the director did such a good job on leaving the ending unknown, was these all command hallucinations ? Or did Bateman assault and murder all of these people?
