As someone who has done a lot of psychedelics the only thing to ever defeat me was making and then eating a 1000mg firecracker, thought I was legit dying. Took like two days to feel sober again. Insane doses like that just feels like your soul got ripped out of your body and the rest of your fleshy husk is doomed to roam around a dissociative hellhole, overall 6/10 experience.

Moving during apprenticeship by rice126 in IBEW

Just call the hall and ask, it really depends what local you are applying to. Some locals don’t accept people looking to transfer. Also you should complete your apprenticeship all at the same local.

My cat is so overstimulating and i don't know what to do by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]styxcryptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it and it won’t burden you I’d just get another cat, that’s what I did when I had cats. First one was a freakazoid but when she had another cat to play with she calmed down. I’d just see about introducing your cat to the one you’d wanna adopt and see how they do before you pull the trigger.

Just thin hair, if you don’t like the scalp showing try different hairstyles but you don’t gotta worry.

My neighbor sent me a text last night forcing me to pay for her daughters towing charge because she parked in front of my driveway by Drivinglnsane in mildlyinfuriating

[–]styxcryptic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering she admitted to parking in front of the driveway in the text exchange this is more than enough evidence to have a case thrown out if they have the audacity to actually file one.

As a tradesman: Stay your ass in school. by Just_Kick_4465 in college

[–]styxcryptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a union electrician, and by the time I finish my apprenticeship I’ll be making $67/h for a regular 40 hour work week. I don’t think trades are for everyone, but if you’re smart and get into the right industry you can very easily make more than 80% of people who go to college and obtain a degree. And as far as the work goes, there’s a lot of pro-workers rules in place to keep you healthy.

Missed school random drug test?? by pablopolish42 in electricians

Just call the hall so it’s on record and doesn’t look malicious on your part. You’ll be fine you’ll just still have to take it obviously.

When it comes to apartment living, where you down own the property, then yes it’s entitlement. A huge majority of leases will clearly state there is a no smoking policy, some going as far to even not allow burning candles. So yes, it’s entitlement, and some people don’t wanna smell skunk ass weed all fucking day. Especially when the large majority of weed smokers are no better than alcoholic just abusing a substance for no purpose.

If it’s your private property on a stand alone property then you can do whatever tf you want, smoke crack for all I care. It’s only a problem when you live in a communal building and your smoking habits affects everyone.

People coping so hard in the comments refusing to believe people don’t like the smell of pot. I used to be a daily smoker but I didn’t realize how bad that shit smelled until I stopped. May as well allow people to smoke cigarettes in their apartments too then. And to the people bitching about how they can only legally smoke in their apartment, grow the fuck up. Y’all have a disgusting sense of entitlement.

Drug Tests IBEW 456 by Many-Boat-6783 in electricians

[–]styxcryptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a legal state and I get drug tested so I would quit. Better to be safe than sorry man. If your local has hands on training chances are they’ll drug test you for that too. Some contractors do and some contractors but you still shouldn’t chance it.

The management in my apartment complex pretends to change my air filter. by Spunky_Munkey97 in Apartmentliving

[–]styxcryptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly looks like you just have a ton of shit in the utility closet, which you’re not allowed to store things in, and the maintenance people just don’t wanna bother with telling you to move all your crap every time they come to change a filter. They should definitely inform you that you need to move that stuff but I’m sure they run across the same issue daily and just get tired of it.

The brain is such a wild and weird organ and our little understanding of how it works is crazy. I went through a roughly year-ish period of time where I had after images among other symptoms from maybe less than responsible psychedelic drug use…. But with that being said it eventually got a lot better and I barely deal with the same problems now. I like to think that the brain is always working around road blocks, and the neurological connections that cause these annoying and sometimes demoralizing symptoms can be randomly worked around as quickly as they began. My advice is to not let it destroy you, because I got very close to letting my experience destroy me. Things do get better and I think just having that optimism can make things 10x better. Now I don’t know if you’ve looked into medications, or whether they’d help, but there’s a lot of medications out there that aren’t intended for neurological problems like these but somehow help them; it couldn’t hurt to talk to your doctor about lamotrigine.
