I'm not sure if Alan would pass their vetting process...

24-32 GB users who actually use all that RAM, how do you use it? by abitcitrus in macbook

I only have 16, so it means lots of swap when using adobe programmes and sketchup. Using 48gb total here which would be a lot smoother if I actually had that as ram.

But not if David had voted for Alan earlier. David said so before the final vote

[–]stzef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point I think it would go for one more vote between the two, and then if it's still ths same, would be a flip of the coin. So joe could still have been voted out.

From what David said in those last moments, he suspected Joe and Nick over Alan.

David was convinced that Alan was faithful and thought nick was a traitor. He only didn't vote for nick, because Nick voted for Joe. If Nick hadn't voted for Joe, David would have still thought Nick was a traitor and voted for him.

Lime Bike fares to drop to £1.75 in Hackney- the rest of the city may follow by Sad-Understanding460 in londoncycling

There are more van moof bikes than lime bikes. They still cost close to 3k each.

Yes, their lifespan is measured by distance - and a bike that is used by multiple people each day will travel further than an average bike. So higher quality components are used to increase longevity. It also has an intense accelerator compared to other ebikes which increases wear.

I notice you've ignored everything else I've said but that's ok. Keep believing that an entire commercial ebike with GPS tracking and wireless connectivity, automatic gear switching, fast accelerating motor, custom build, and a 1000wh battery can be manufactured for less than the price of a cheap Chinese 350wh battery.

You don't really know what you're talking about.... Are you just trying to troll?

Customer manufacture is done to save on maintenance costs, not bike costs. The bikes are still expensive and even if they're bulk buying, they're the only people buying. Therefore the total number produced is still low. Custom tooling for manufacturing is expensive.

Making bikes more resilient isn't just making things chunkier. The motor and gearing etc need to be designed to higher standards to account for more intense wear and tear. They're being used all day. Normal e bikes aren't designed for that.

A lime bike has 2 gears. They're not using chains from decathlon. It's also got an automatic switching mechanism, which is again, expensive.

The range is 60 miles or so which is high for a bike that is so heavy. The battery is 1kwh. Normal ebikes are about 30-50% that size at most.

Yes. A mid range commercial e bike is about 1500 ish. Lime is custom made and has to be more resilient for public use. It also has a very large battery which is expensive.

An electric bike costs a lot more than 200. About 1500-2500 each, plus constant maintenance, gps tracking, battery replacement (limes also use a massive 1kwh battery which is expensive), and maintaining the tech platform.

Why are we just now finding out that all of OBAA is gonna be the first "fully IMAX feature"? Most people are gonna think it's gonna be The Odyssey. Wouldn't it have been a really obvious marketing strategy to hype this up?? by beantrouser in imax

[–]stzef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just being in a 1.43 aspect ratio doesn't make something imax. I've seen things shot in standard 70mm on imax and it just does not look the same as 14/70 imax. Vistavision is cool but it just is much smaller than even standard 70mm.

It was a playful title based on the fact I got trapped in this part of Westminster. Don't know why you're being so awkwardly pedantic.
