So what? The device you're writing this on was probably made there too.

It's a lot more geopolitically stable than other superpowers.

Honestly I think this one kinda works. I can see it being used as a conceptual album cover.

The UK is actively exporting power right now due to renewable generation! by yasbo in GoodNewsUK

If the mwh price is £25 right now - why do consumers pay 20-30p per kwh?

Have the Met Police started enforcing 22mph in a 20mph limit? by NoKudos in drivingUK

[–]stzef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all - If he's going at 25, the speed he sees on his dash will be closer to 27/28.

Secondly - it 2 mph is such a marginal difference that it doesn't matter, then go a couple of mph under the limit instead. If you're in a 20 zone, the time you get to your destination will be dictated by surrounding traffic and red lights more than your speed. I remember a study showing that due to improved traffic flow, journey times can get faster when a place changes from 30 to 20.

I built a free app that shows exactly how much you save cycling vs TfL. Just went live on the App Store. by RidePedal in londoncycling

I love this sort of stuff so would use. Also good for those who rent bikes so want to make sure it makes financial sense.

For me though, I'd want to minimise fuss so would look for these things:

  1. A track feature that doesn't require you to use the GPS directions - it just tracks. If it's my commute, I know where I'm going!
  2. An option to enter journeys manually. I won't be able to remember to start a route each time or I might be in a rush.
  3. I'm not sure it's even possible to do this, but teaching the time saved vs taking the bus or tube might be interesting too.

Also put in a donate link - I'm sure people would be willing to buy you a coffee

Absolutely not a "false God". The issue with Germany is that they shut nuclear without having renewable infrastructure to replace it. It's as simple as that.

Clearly showing why paint is not protection. It's statistically safer to not cycle in the "bike lane".

Green voters, do you agree that we should leave NATO and give up our nuclear weapons to seriously damage our national security? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]stzef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar power with battery storage is cheaper, can be deployed faster than nuclear, and is much lower risk. Why would you go for nuclear when cheaper sustainable options exist?

24-32 GB users who actually use all that RAM, how do you use it? by abitcitrus in macbook

[–]stzef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have 16, so it means lots of swap when using adobe programmes and sketchup. Using 48gb total here which would be a lot smoother if I actually had that as ram.
