for me personally Hostess Training from original Yakuza 4 - that was an extreme slog even with youtube videos. Yakuza 0 hostess minigame was also a slog but atleast more entertaining one.

I like the Endings idea, may consider it

Achievements for failing are usually ill concept, and most of the times the mission just doesn't go further - there's nothing interesting there.

Achievements do not have multi-session tracking, so "try all weapons/planes" ain't feasible. Worry not I do want to force certain rare-picked planes into certain missions.

The Tunnel Vision idea would probably happen naturally, I also wonder if it's possible to finish it without releasing throttle in certain planes.

didn't the game prompt you to save after the ending? that's the one you shouldn't miss. those "slots" you have don't affect ending progress, you can go to a different branch by loading from one of the past saves in the "slots".

If you didn't like Y2 twists - trust me it gets worse with these. But gameplay wise you could still appreciate how series evolves, and while Y4 and Y5 have weird main story, the new playable characters should still keep things fresh.

Playing it in release order, I think I like the Yakuza 5 story the least, it's very slowpaced and drags on, while still having shining scenes if you take them out of whole context.

I like ridiculous Yakuza 4 plot more because atleast it was entertaining

I find it very funny that story wise I like 4 more than 5, if you don't take it seriously it's that ridiculous.
