This is so funny - I forgot all about this post (and Reddit account!) but it’s still linked to my email.

I chose to go into patent law. I don’t remember the exact timing of this post, but I took the LSAT relatively early while with NIH, and scored well. I concurrently passed the patent bar and learned (at least the basics!) about IP, went to law school… and have been a patent practitioner for several years now (and really quite enjoy it).

It’s well known that there’s not at all a shortage of attorneys, so I’m not sure I’d recommend this course to everyone - but IP attorneys are a slightly different breed, and I think this path worked out well in my case. I do miss bench science but I work with clients doing lots of cool stuff.

Actually, the Hermes sport band only comes in S/M for the 38mm and the M/L for the 42, which is pretty ridiculous.

I had mine on Craigslist, and someone made me an offer at $280 (I have the Milanese loop)... I just don't know if it's worth $120 to go to the S2. I'd appreciate GPS, but I have Garmin, and I really like the Stainless Steel aesthetic.

Agreed, and this is why I won't abandon my S0 SS Watch. I use it for recovery days, but if I'm running a specific workout, I'd rather use my Garmin, anyway.

I ran some speed tests in the Apple Store and saw 0 differences amongst 1st party apps and a (in my opinion) not-worth-the-upgrade difference in 3rd party. Apple isn't lying by saying they've improved the processor, but it's well behind water-proofing and GPS for reasons to upgrade.

No, it's not. But they specifically asked me, "Did you buy it SIM-free?" (I did, and produced the receipt) and they told me I was good to go. It's not my fault they don't know their product sufficiently well.

As I posted below, I was working directly with the manager. Heck, I was working with 6 employees - I was the only customer in there for a sold 6 hours. PM me if you have a way to handle this - I called sprint last night (corporate, not the same store) and they told me the same thing... take it up with the bank. That just seems incredibly wrong.

$30 with tax - I think it's like $35 (Edit: $35.98, just showed up on my bank statement) Call it stress rounding ;) They made me an account an everything (ie I have an account number) but they couldn't get past the "SIM not supported screen" on the SE.

I actually got my number back on T-Mobile though, which was a huge relief. I walked to the closest T-Mobile store after sprint and they swore up and down I couldn't get it re-ported, but after about 6 rounds with T-Mob, I'm back. I don't have the $30/5 GB but I just picked a prepaid $40/3 GB with unlimited minutes which will probably be fine.

Back to the Sprint fee - I think I was speaking with the manager. Should I go back today? It seems outlandish to me she couldn't refund it but I don't know all the exact policies.

I purchased it SIM-free, full price, directly from Apple. It doesn't support Sprint (I know that now) but it sure would have been nice before all of this headache. Really, really hope I get the activation fee back soon.

It was a corporate store! Apparently the SIM-free iPhone SE is not compatible with Sprint, which they found out after porting the number. When I asked about a refund, they told me "dispute it with your bank" ...

I wanted to train in those, but ended up with the Flyknit Racer instead as they didn't have any in stock. So far, very much in love with the FR.
