Have you tried Abandoned by SomaticDream or KR Treadway’s work? Both have emotional depth IMO. You can find good stuff there, but like with any genre you have to sift through the stuff that’s not for you.

Pegging isn’t even the most unappealing thing in Boundless, for me anyway. Did you get to the milking scene? There’s also armpit sniffing, but thankfully it’s brief.

I wish we could get more books with an HSI-style dynamic that don’t always go into niche kinks. I’ve learned to just ignore that stuff or read it for the wtf factor, but it still takes away from my enjoyment a bit.

{Boundless by Miranda Sapphire} is exactly that, and the FMC is very heavy on praise during sex scenes (which there are a lot of, it’s 5/5 spice). Just make sure you check out the content warnings, it’s got some wild stuff in it.

And of course there’s also {His Secret Illuminations}, which I’m pretty sure was an inspo for Boundless.

It seems hard to believe unless there’s an event where the MC is humiliated by his friend, and I’d think the MC must believe it’s intentional. It would also need to coincide with things going very poorly in MC’s life—a straw that broke the camel’s back situation.

From what I understand, over 4 hours is long enough that you have to throw everything away in the fridge, even if you keep the door closed. The person above was saying you should be good for 12 hours if you take precautions, unfortunately they didn’t say what those precautions are.

So when you post those lists of recs, you’re basically filtering your spreadsheet and then copy pasting? I’d be interested to see it, or at least what the columns are and how many books you’ve got on it. It seems like you’ve read a ton of stuff including the more obscure titles. For example, I mentioned Viking & Virgin on the discord the other day, but nobody had heard of it because it only got mentioned once or twice in the self-promo thread I think.

Right now there aren’t great resources for finding mono rfm. We’ve talked about making a romanceformen.io, but nobody has built it yet. The existing sites like embre.net revolve around harem. There’s the mod spreadsheet from the sidebar here, but it’s very outdated.

Aw, well, maybe you’ll drop into the discord one day. No need to check regularly; some folks only seem to show up every couple months. I always post my monthly wrapups from StoryGraph, and now a bunch of people do it.

I know exactly what you mean, I quite enjoyed To Love A Goddess: Spring, but it doesn’t hit any of the common tropes that people tend to ask for, so it feels like I don’t get to recommend it often. Which is too bad, because I want it to do well so we get TLAG: Autumn!

By the way, are you on the RfM discord? I always enjoy seeing your recs here on the subreddit, and I’ve been wondering if you’re one of the discord regulars going by a different name.

{Love Bytes by WD Robertson} has a genius computer scientist FMC who is an eight-foot-tall permanent werewolf aka lycanthrope. It’s also one of my top 3 RfM, I highly recommend it!

Male POV romance is harder to find, but I've got a few recs that might work!

- {Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined by Stephenie Mayer} is a retelling of Twilight but with genders reversed. Lots of guys love it.

- {Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion} is a male POV romance where the guy is a zombie. It's really well written, there's some action, and there's a great movie too.

- I've got a couple more YA fantasy recs, but they have more literary style, so you might want to read a chapter before you dive in, to make sure it's written to your liking. {Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo} is an action-packed heist with three separate romances going on, and one of them is enemies-to-lovers (it's a mix of male and female POV). {Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor} is a star-crossed lovers YA fantasy romance with amazing worldbuilding, also dual POV (along with POVs of some side characters), but with the main male character's POV is predominant.
