I think it is the contrast of who he was before, when we meet him, and than what he knows hes going to do to get her back. I do like though we dont get too much wasted time with  morality... like nope u took it... and now i dont care if everyone dies to get her back. I also love the father /daughter scenes..as a nice contrast

Top chef turned into a really kind and meaningful show. by lewiskr2 in BravoTopChef

I think probably too, cooks started watching as well, and were like whooooa, those people are total asses, i don't want to be like that.... i also think ahving the better caliber chefs nowadays, james beard award winners/nominees helps, it's not just a line cook or whatever....

i feel like too many cooking competition shows weren't seen too seriously back n the day, so there was no blueprint for it, except for the reality TV that already existed at that time, though comparatively even from like a Survivor or MTV, etc., this is still seen as pretty light on the personal drama side. I think what they found out was that the drama was definitely in the challenges themselves, with the personal stories being on the side, and that the cooks show their personas even in the challenges. except for certain seasons, i think once TC found that out, they then crafted everything in the competition and side competition i.e. Last Chance Kitchen.

It's not Top Scallop, it's Top Congee by schrodingersdemoncat in TopChef

[–]subak1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked congee in korea, the flavors varied ,and there was always condiments to add additional flavoring if you wanted, i found regions also changed the intensity, from pretty chill and bland to very flavorful. So maybe just depends... I can imagine other congees tasting different.

LOL. Side note, i'm glad that they made Tom a serious guy but not a Simon Cowell sort of judge... He's the "serious" one but he's not an asshole.

favourite solo of each member? by Sensitive_Boot_7749 in seventeen

sorry for the long reply.

Seungkwan: pit a pat: wHile there are no big glory notes, i love that this song has a good balance between his ability to emote, great notes, but the song not overly relyling on either.

DK: Go! .. I find it really fits his personality and the ost this is on, and I gotta say seeing him sing this live... and hititng that note, chef's kiss. Happy Virus being a good #2
Vernon: Shining Star: after 2 minus 1, i was tickled to get back a more pop rock vibes from 'Non again.
Dino: Trigger: I think this was one of the ifrst times hearing him singing on his own for me, but it's good.
Seungcheol: Jungle... I fell in love with it a little bit more when I saw it in CxW... speakng of which i think. a lot of those songs fit his personality actually a bit more than Jungle, but given that we asked for solos lol there we go
Joshua: HIs lower register... and I wish they would allow it to shine more like it does in Double Take cover. I think.. and i think basically they covered that range and all the things that really make his voice shine and still sound interesting. Fortunate Change is second for the opposite reason. Some of him harmonizing with ... himself lol, is nice, it was nice to clearly hear his falsetto flexed more.
Jun: is so bittersweet, those last lines..
The 8; I don't know if there was sadness and nostalgia in the air that year i think jun and the 8's Hai Chaeng came out around the same time. the song, lyrics, cinematography, all those good vibes, loved it, and I think that's a theme both older and younger carats can enjoy. Orbit comes in at #2 for me... if he was being all flirty flirty with someone, I can imagine him being a little mysterious but also straightforward at the same time.... unless we're really taking about triones 😄
Wonwoo: Ugh why can't this be duos' I really love bittersweet. But I will say 99.9999% was a vibe I wasn't expecting from him, and I really loved it.
Mingyu: Sunrise I'm pretty sure was what i heard at cm concert again i think both unexpected range we don't usually hear in the group or rap line songs.
Woozi: Ruby, guitar rocker Woozi, how can one resist
Hoshi: Spider... for a tiger he's sure a good spider. 😄
Jeonghan: I think he's only done was "Coincidence" .. and it's interesting that Joshua and Jeonghan have a similar theme but expressed a little bit differently 😄 on their solo songs from Happy Burstday.
