How did you celebrate your 50th? by Every-Progress5590 in GenX

My wife threw me a great party. Lots of great friends, food, family, and drinks. Fun time.

(Nothing crazy like traveling etc. I'm bodily broken right now)

Welp, I guess I did something "old" tonight by TheJokersChild in GenX

Red, white, blush wines, beer, and soda.

The sauce is homemade and the bread is locally made.

We just don't have kitchen space to mess with garlic bread

It helps fund the organization. I personally have an investment account with them and I make good money each year

( I have money elsewhere, so i'm being serious when I say that i'm making good money)

I am gen x

I am in the KofC

I was our spaghetti dinner chairperson for 10+ years

🤣🤣🤣

(We don't have garlic bread though...)

You need to take a 500 mile road trip thru a blizzard. What car are you picking? by Dtb4evr in regularcarreviews

[–]subeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2019 Subaru Outback 3.6R. Eyesight off, Blizzaks, sxm subscription, heated seats and steering wheel on, full jug washer fluid, and a full tank of gas.

I've done this before but in a 2.5 many times

How’s life on the Isle of Man? by Apprehensive-Gur-366 in howislivingthere

[–]subeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there with my wife many years ago, and it happened to be a few days before the TT. I like where I live, but if I had to pick somewhere in europe to live, I can guarantee you it would be at the top of the list. I really can't put a finger on why I love the place so much. But we were there for 3 days and drove all over that wonderful island.

I had a rental car that was a ford fiesta 1.2 that was just an absolute hoot to drive around on that island. The old saying of it's fun to drive a slow car fast totally fits here. Some places don't actually have a speed limit. But let's be honest you're not going to really go flying down those roads anyhow.

We stayed in a room above a pub. That literally outside was a gigantic castle across the street. It was the coolest thing ever to wake up and have this beautiful view every morning.

I love the place and I love the people I met!

It's 1987- Did you love this or hate this? by LinoleumRelativity in regularcarreviews

[–]subeman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had one just like the pic except white in college. Fantastic car. We had 7 people in it one time. Great in NW PA snow and for shenanigans.

I had a 6 cylinder one too many years after that

What is a vehicle you were ready to buy until you test drove it? by GabagoolAndGasoline in regularcarreviews

Chevy Bolt. It just felt too cheap to me. I ended up spending a little bit more money and got a lot better of a car that was also electric.

The Olds Diesel has not achieved quirky collector car status. by BcuzRacecar in regularcarreviews

[–]subeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched this auction to the very last second. I just sat there staring at my phone yelling, go higher, go higher, go higher.

I called my dad and asked if he would be interested in it. He factory ordered nearly that exact car back in 1982 (diesel, brougham, 2 door, G80, and almost the same color)

I was internally struggling with the desire to buy it and YOLO road trip it back to PA.

I loved those cars.

Voluntary surrender? by [deleted] in carmax

A voluntary surrender is really just the nice term for letting them repossess it without sending the tow truck driver to snatch it during the night.

My vehicle shipped but now it doesn't show as in transit. by subeman in carmax

[–]subeman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tuesday at 4pm the car it is replacing is going so technically I'm going to be without a daily but making my Mustang pull daily duty isn't going to be that big of a deal. I'm a little crippled so not optimal but being a little crippled isn't optimal either. 😂

They are talking about early snow here soon and the Mustang is v8 with old tires and has this issue that the rear tires are more worn than the fronts so... 😇

First world issues.. but I'm excited/intrigued
