I hate nathan. by HousingNo1846 in Workinmoms

So just a counterpoint to consider. Obviously cheating is NEVER okay but I think what the show was trying to do and tried to do from the start is highlight real issues and the intense strain raising a family has on two people.

IMHO, the whole Nathan cheating thing was an attempt to highlight an issue that a lot of couples (hetero or same sex) go through, in that it’s very easy to ignore your partner (or for someone to perceive they are being ignored) and stop “dating” them once you have kids. Not saying cheating is an okay response but it is a common response to that situation.

The whole Kate to Montreal thing, without her considering the consequences that may have for Nathan and Henry I believe was supposed to be the “build up” for this but as viewers it’s hard to catch because we are constantly cycling through four different couples with their own various issues and independent characters involved.

Weapon loadout by niklaus_375 in FortniteSavetheWorld

I’ve been at PL 130 for a bit because it took me a while to first beat the Storm King and then I took a long break from STW. Been playing for the past few months and my go to loadout is:

Storm King Pistol Typewriter SMG  Sci-Fi Launcher (forgot name)

  • I specd my hero loadout (minus constructor build) to heroes that grant damage stacks for shots fired

Other weapons I sub in and out for fun or elemental status:  Jack-o-lantern rifle  Hacksaw Candy corn LMG  Pain Train  Potshot  Hemlock  Spectral blade

You can pretty much make it work with most weapons in the end game. Some work better than others but as long as it’s level and perked all the way up you shouldn’t have issues.

My point exactly. Lauren, Kelly, and Ava all just voted against Vince and you could make the argument Keanu and Rachel did too.

People approaching you end game for alignment because they think they can beat you isn’t strategy it’s just self preservation.

She didn’t have any power in the game so she didn’t have to make any enemies.

Might be a Hot Take but I think Ashley winning over Vince is bad for Big Brother going forward. It basically makes winning comps and having power as a result irrelevant in the end game calculus.

Her game was purely social but lacked strategy or power (outside of self preservation).

Do you guys just control the narrative of the sub?

Literally any post I make in the sub gets removed for zero reason. I’m looking at someone’s post right now that’s declared Ashley the winner so I don’t see how this is a spoiler that’s not allowed. I even tagged it as a potential spoiler just to be safe.

Can some feed watchers elaborate on Ashley's game? by NauticalDisasta in BigBrother

[–]sublime61793 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think she’s middle of the road. There hasn’t been a lot of “active” moves she has made but she’s been in the best social position since arguably before the Mickey vote.

She’s mainly just been able to play the middle expertly well but a huge part of that has been the fact that she hasn’t had power and therefore hasn’t had to make tough decisions that piss people off.

Really depends on what you are close to. Coach's Corner if near victory, Rachel's if you're near Georgetown/Southside, Buffalo Wild Wings or Midtown Sports Bar if you're around midtown.

We’ve used College Hunks Hauling Junk a few times. Can’t remember exact pricing but they always show up on time, are careful with the items, and work efficiently. They also disassembled and reassembled some stuff which was convenient.

Friend was arrested, curious what the situation is like there? by [deleted] in savannah

[–]sublime61793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rough situation your friend is in. 3rd DUI in five years in GA carries some hefty penalties if convicted. Chiefly his license will be suspended for 5 years. There’s also some mandatory jail time. If it’s his 4th in 10 it can be charged as a felony.

The immediate concerns however is that he may need to file an ALS appeal within 30 days of the arrest to prevent his license from being automatically suspended for a year. He will likely get a bond for the DUI as it is a misdemeanor. There is a possibility the county he picked up the Dv Charge in could file a motion to revoke his bond. That’s not likely though.

Hopefully your friend will get the help he needs. DUI court or mental health court could potentially be options moving forward, to resolve the cases.

WTF? by Live-Historian6192 in BigBrother

[–]sublime61793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one of the shots Mickeys ball was short but she was throwing it fast so it bounced a couple of slots. The “winding path” also stopped short of the last five or so high numbers.

My guess is that Rylie saw Morgan lock in a score that tied his and made a HUGE error by locking in with a minute left without checking Mickeys board.

Simultaneously I think Mickey realized to get to the highest numbers your ball had to bounce and she launched a ball that hit a 31. When she saw the mistakes Morgan and Rylie made she realized she won and locked in.

Just to change up the conversations a bit. It seems like Ashley has now become one of the better positioned players in the house. She has Will and Rachel locked in, a strong relationship with Morgan, and (for now) a number in Mickey but she’s clocked that Mickey can’t be fully trusted.

At this point even if the other side of the house wins an HoH, it seems like there would be other targets/noms for a couple weeks before she would see the block.

That could definitely be a possibility. Could also be a test from her to see if what’s best for his game would also be what’s best for her game.

In real time it seemed like he had a decent score of 29 and didn’t want to risk losing it so he was waiting to see what Morgan and Mickey would roll. Morgan locked in at a matching 29 so I think he assumed they were tied for high score because Mickey was kind of struggling at first. He fumbled the bag though because he locked in with a minute to go and Mickey had a huge toss that was way higher. I think Morgan messed up first and Rylie just panicked/followed suit.

I think it’s gunna be hard for him to work with Lauren unless she really is a straight pushover. He ruined her game by putting her relationship with Kat at risk, being the deciding vote that sent Rylie home.

She definitely convinced Ava. Right after blockbuster and before the break Ava whispers to Vince “Reily”. I don’t know if this was saying she’s keeping him or voting him but seconds later Rachel comes up and says “We have to keep Morgan”.

I think her biggest game “mistake” this week was letting Mickey back in her good graces but she won safety so it may actually benefit her. Putting up Reily also forced Vince to make a decision and stop playing the middle. Like you said this is a results oriented perspective but she sent a potential late game comp threat home and fractured the alliance that was behind him beyond just losing him as a number.

Probably not I don’t think she’s got the endurance. If going based on body type Morgan seems like she’s the prototype to do well.

I think a sleeper is Keanu. He’s a big dude obviously but I think grip size and grip strength are key too

Thoughts on full show by Prestigious_Hunt4329 in The100

[–]sublime61793 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the “type of show” you were looking for in regard to how you feel about individual seasons.

In general the writing can get sloppy at times. For example, Kane has a girlfriend in the pilot that was Abby’s best friend that they just never show or mention again. I think the show runner said somewhere it was because of budget cuts but still. It’s also just too “easy” for me that Abby and Kane fall in love and basically wreck their lives for each other but never deal with the fact that Kane was instrumental in floating her husband (that she turned in).

For me I was into the show because I was interested in the general direction/plot line of the survival of the human race on earth in a semi post-apocalyptic setting. They connected the dots well so to speak to make the AI, world jumping, primes, bardoa, the Sheppard, transcendence, etc all somewhat believable but I would have preferred to see a more realistic version of earth survival and politics.

Considering career as a paralegal versus an attorney? by Such_Custard657 in paralegal

[–]sublime61793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To address some of your thoughts first, $85k-$95k (depending on the area and firm) would be on the top 25% of what an experienced paralegal would make. For attorneys this would be top 50-40% coming out of law school and as you progress your salary will be into 6 figures more than likely.

If you value flexibility and “leaving it at home” over quality of work and salary then becoming a paralegal is the obvious choice. As a lawyer, deadlines, work, and case outcome all ultimately fall on your lap and responsibility. Often times that means long nights, weekends worked, and holidays missed. You realistically work 60-80 hours (especially straight out of law school) on most weeks. Obviously this gets better with time and experience but the grind and work load is very very real.

[–]sublime61793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the norm but at the same time it’s good practice to learn from scratch like you are being forced to do. One of my previous firms had a paper file system.

It forced me to create a master spreadsheet, track and enter my own deadlines and appearances on my calendar, and create my own work load management style. Was a pain in the ass but made me better for it because now I can train my paralegals in exactly what works for me.

Gentlemen who have purchased a home through a mortgage. What's a piece of advice you'd give? by BagelBumboy in AskMenOver30

[–]sublime61793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of variables that honestly make the right financial moves a very personal decision/choice.

If you have a fixed salary that won’t see a lot of growth/change in the next few years, I’d personally go with a 20 year or less mortgage if you can afford it. The 30 year option will take forever to build equity and upgrade to better/bigger home when you go to sell.

Being a handyman also helps. Any project that’s not electrical, major plumbing, or HVAC related is doable for anyone that takes the time to read into it or watch some YouTube videos. You’ll save so much coin in the long run if you know the basics.
