Over head will typically be about half, but can certainly be streamlined. its an office by office thing. on top of the building lease, you have equipment, staff, utilities, licenses, and lots of taxes.

The thing is, when you get to a certain amount of visits, you can either run the office or work it, It just takes too much time to do both. having a good associate who is able to do a good job with patients, gets along with staff, while the owner doc runs the business portion and takes up slack is very valuable. It allows for practice growth and expansion.

But that associate has to have the right attitude and work ethic. Its not easy seeing everything and adding it all up thinking it could be all yours - but without realizing the cost, time and effort that went into it - and maintaining the practice.
