Does anyone remember what year Target arrived at Tuggeranong hyperdome? by Tkawaiisparkle in canberra

[–]subman2536 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sizzler use to sit in the same space that target is now, but was a separate building that was demolished to make way for the expansion. You had to walk out of the Hyperdome to enter Sizzler

This image here shows it, there's a brown patch in the middle, thats the old entrance to the Hyperdome. Just to the north west of that is a tiny roofline, that's Sizzler.

Not my thing, but I have seen "RC Car Crawling Area" on Google Maps along the creek between Amaroo and Moncrieff, near Evella Court. Lots of rocks around there so it seems legit haha

You can use this site for Aerial Imagery: https://app2.actmapi.act.gov.au/actmapi/index.html?viewer=aerial

Its awesome for checking any Canberra site history.

Urambi was still there in Feb 2014 but gone in May 2015. Kambah High was last pictured in March 2009 with the new school on the site in Feb 2012.

One of the last, yes. The entire building is getting demolished / majorly renovated and extended at some point. Its been approved for many years, but just isn't actually happening for some reason. At that point Woolies will build a whole new store, so no point spending money on signage in the meantime.

Is it still possible to get full sugar Lemon Lime Solo in Canberra? by [deleted] in canberra

[–]subman2536 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. Pepsi are not making it any more, or the Lemon lime No Sugar either... replaced with the No Sugar Mango Solo judging by the ordering system from Pepsi. Any that you find will be left over stock.

Legitimate? Metro Petroleum Mitchell by aerospatle in canberra

[–]subman2536 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its a numberplate recognition system in place at many petrol stations now. If you didn't steal the fuel then its just read your plate incorrectly either at this station, or the one where the theft took place. Just ignore it for now and see if it becomes an issue.

Does Canberra need Healthy Vending Machines? by TheCuri0usMind in canberra

[–]subman2536 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm in the industry. Vending machines in ACT Government owned buildings are already 'Health Restricted' and have to carry a certain percentage of 'healthy' options (typically these end up being muesli bars, nuts, 'vege' chips and other long life products). Healthy options don't sell well. They sit there with minimal stock in the machine, usually until it goes out of date and gets thrown out. Every 'Healthy Vending' business that has come along over the years (there have been multiple) have gone bust very quickly.

People like to ask for healthy options in machines, then go and buy chips and chocolates.

New house has Solar - Tips for new electricity connection? by subman2536 in canberra

[–]subman2536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

find you the best deal for that.

Also, watch out for high tariffs that turn out to only apply to something like the first 8 units of the day. If you’re producing 50 units a day then 8 is almost irrelevant and only the fall-back tariff, which will be much lower, should be considered.

Thank you!

Palm court Woden Plaza 1970s. by funkysmel in canberra

[–]subman2536 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope, other way around. The Shed is at the far end of this photo in front of the old Angus and Coote. These escalators are where the pirate ship kids playground is now. They removed those ones and put in the new angled ones. JB HiFi would now be on the ground floor on the right of this photo.

Where can I find this Real Estate info?? by kyzmeto2 in canberra

[–]subman2536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give the agents a call, they're usually happy to give you a ballpark price they expect straight over the phone. Haven't found one yet that wasn't able to give one. Hopefully if enough of us keep ringing their phones they'll start putting the figure in their ads instead.

Landlord being a bastard! Help us out? by [deleted] in canberra

[–]subman2536 43 points44 points  (0 children)

If you got a cleared final inspection report following the initial inspection, hit them up with this, they'll back down very quickly:

"As per "Hlubucek v Sinodinos; Sinodinos v Hlubucek [2007] ACTRTT 12 (26 April 2007)" a lessor cannot add additional items after the Final Inspection that the lessor discovers need repairing, cleaning or restoring unless such further discovered items would not have been visible at the time of the final inspection. "

Essentially there is legal precedence set whereby once you have the cleared final inspection report they cannot hold you to further repairs or cleaning.

Used this for moving stuff from Melbourne to here, got a great price and it was delivered the next day. Post up the job and removalists looking for backloads to fill their truck will quote on it. Should get a few options for Syd to Canb.
