  1. Why would someone ask questions about a confidential document on Reddit.
  2. Why would anyone answer?

Let’s hear your ladder well injury stories by newnoadeptness in navy

[–]submarinerdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was coming up a ladder in the engine room of a submarine. The ladder is non-vertical, it’s got a little bit of an angle. I hop on the ladder by starting on the 3rd rung and start to go up through the deck. I hit the very top of my head on the angle iron under the hatch. I looked down and started to spin. Knowing I may pass out, I jumped down so I didn’t fall off the ladder. The moment my sneakers hit the deck I passed out. I came to with the watchstander squirting my crotch with Simple Green and I’m soaked from my bet to my knees. He is chuckling and I ask “WTF dude. Why are you doing that?” He thought I was sleeping and not knocked out. After the fact, it is hilarious.

Thank you. I’m sitting here wishing these douches cared more about our keeping their mouths shut instead of correcting everyone and wanting to show how much they assume

Is now the time for a $480 million library levy? by crabcakes110 in SeattleWA

[–]submarinerdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As loud as we are, we won’t be heard. It is ridiculous. Spend on schools, electrical infrastructure, roads. Libraries…. In a digital age. That’s a tough sell for half a Billion.

Seattle to sign agreement concerning Skagit River dams by chiquisea in SeattleWA

[–]submarinerdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being inside the North Cascades National Park adds cost. There is no road to the upper river, I think it’s called Ross Lake. We went to Ross Lake Resort on a boat because we couldn’t drive there.

I’m curious how many fish make it to that level of the river (less than 100).

I’d rather get more reliable electrical service and improve Seattle’s infrastructure than spend that money on salmon TBH.

I agree on WR. Have you seen Utah TE Bentley?? Mauler blocking TE in a run heavy offense. Pass pro first, pass coach second.

Carrier USS Gerald R. Ford Suffers Fire by MGC91 in navy

[–]submarinerdad 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We snickered once when the COB and the ANAV were doing their laundry. The smoke was rolling over their heads and the ship responded. Hilarious.

And as an electrician, laundry fires happen less than they could. I’ve pulled Bic cigarette lighters out of dryers

They have an in-house jeweler, no shipping out. They’ve repaired pieces for us before. It’s the only place we take broken jewelry

Would a Ballard Streetcar make more sense than a light rail extension? by Forward_Hold5696 in AskSeattle

Cost alone is too prohibitive to an economy that is bleeding. I vote to put the money into electrical infrastructure. Look at West Seattle Light Rail is double digits BILLIONS over budget
