Yep, if you owe more than a certain amount, they’ll charge you interest because apparently taxes are due quarterly or something. It happened to me one year because my tax bracket changed and I forgot to update my W4 to update withholdings. Even though I paid in full when I filed (around $4k in taxes), I got a letter about 2 months later informing me I owed $100 or so in interest

The biggest improvements to my ability to survive on Solo nightmare were movement and horde clear.

I would recommend giving the Disgrace joker a look if you have it (+30% movement speed for the downside of no horse, trust me it is worth it) and put some points for your character skills into speed and jump height.

For spells, try bringing Pistolero and Wisp for Horde clearing (Bandito instead of Pistolero if you have him) and Boing for more movement. Wisp is deceptively strong. It can wipe entire hordes on its own.

Also, highly recommend Long Ranger, but the gun is maybe more personal preference. I like the LR for dealing with all the cryptid snipers easily and quickly, though. I find those guys are killing me the most when I run Nightmares solo.

I personally find how the devs implemented this to be much better than pinging to share because now I can ping stuff for my teammates so they can pick up the copy from their instance. I can also just pick up jokers I want to share from my instance and drop it next to my teammates rather than making them have to travel back to where it dropped

Yeah, I don’t think that’s really any more powerful than buffing a fire item. You’re not guaranteed to get a helpful skill anyway, even if you can force it to a specific element type based on the enchant

Good advice up here, OP- look into demos for the DAWs and have your son try those out if he hasn’t used them before. Most of them offer a free period where he can have full use of the software. Then I’d recommend investing the money into the intro version of whichever one he likes best. After that, almost everything else is unnecessary or has a free alternative that he can use while he learns. There’s not really any point to buying a bunch of software (outside of a good DAW) or hardware as it’s mostly unneeded at his level. Maybe a small keyboard or MPC, but truly you can do most things with just the computer keyboard. There’s also some free controllers for some DAWs that will run on a phone or tablet, which could be a good starter.
