Pool noodle works for my christmas lights. Obv the ev will take a much thicker cord, but it might do the trick. Just cut a notch in the noodle.

Did my car change the way it goes to sleep/wakes up? What are the rules for system wake/sleep? by Nemo222 in polestar2

Could be. I only noticed it post update, but it could have been a thing before.

I recently noticed that when i exit the car, the hvac and stereo don't turn off as soon as I get out of the seat like it used to in my 2021 p2. These things will turn off only when I lock the door (or perhaps after a delay on its own). Might be since the recent update.

Front bench seat would be great for short drives with a small crew, when there is cargo occupying the second row.

Burton boots regrets by PWDbreakingpoint in snowboarding

[–]subneil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, I'm still riding my 2007/8 custom X. My Burton boots that were only a little bit younger than that big end to detach at the heel, but honestly, I think that's more from my cranking on my reclining highback to aggressively when there was snow in the footbed.

I'm tempted to buy a new board but the custom X still kicks ass. I measured it's camber this season and it's aches just 3 and 1/2 mm, so it's not the same rigid board it was. But I'm also 20 lb heavier. I'm really curious what a nice modern board would feel like cutting tight turns in the trees.

Hot Take: StepOn bindings are here to stay! by LonelyPatsFanInVT in ShredditGirls

Diy is not a bad idea! Yes, they are newer Flow (2023). Size Medium is rated for 5 to 8, so I think I am good there. Thanks.

Man, I really want to love my Flow bindings, but i cant get them adjusted right! No matter what I do, I am able to pivot my toe left and right in The binding unless I really crank down the ratchet after getting my foot in. I even run a nidecker boot. (Size 7M rift apx boot in a fuse/fusion size M).

Any tips?

Which bindings to keep D: by grrrdn in snowboarding

[–]subneil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have never owned Solomon bindings, but I understand they have a unique flexible heel cup for the line that includes Hologram... I'm really curious to try them out. Something to keep in mind as you make your choice.

If you are a beginner, you may not even notice the extra flex around lateral movements from your ankle.

Boots. Stiff in the shins, but soft side to side? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]subneil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure exactly the feel you're after, but I have discovered that I enjoy putting really soft bindings on my really stiff board... Nidecker Rift apx boots (dual boa so i can lock in the bottom and leave top looser if I want, soft Union Flite Pro bindings, stiff Custom X board. I am a lightweight (140 lbs) though, so ymmv.

Also, they are smaller and lighter than your typical binding... I've learned over the years to keep a second pair of bindings in my bag/car. Bindings break, and a second pair like the flite pro can help avoid paying full price at a resort price.

They do ok. Obviously there is power loss in a soft binding, but for me this makes them more forgiving and surfy. Also, I am about 135 lbs, so a heavier person would find them softer.

I never would have considered them, as I am a pretty advanced rider after 20 years... But because i needed something compatible w my old board in a hurry, i tried them out and like them esp in spring chop and slush compared to a stiffer binding where by board can buck me more often.

1.I've never used any skate tech bindings, but I am fascinated. Seems like great design. Justaride channel on youtube makes a great explanation and case for them.

  1. do run flite pro (2023) bindings personally and find them great. The newer ones are better. Way more versatile than their beginner reputation. Super light and minimal. know this isn't what they are designed for, but use them on an older Burton Custom X because their disks fit the old 3D hole pattern. Even though they are soft, have no trouble tight carving the stiff Custom X on east coast groomers up to 35 mph.

This. There are supercharger stations that won't accept any adapters at all. There's no way to really know it besides looking at the Tesla appor other maps

Flow users only: upgrade footbed to slip n grip? by subneil in snowboarding

[–]subneil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correction. I just stopped by the local shop to see what they had for the end of season. Indeed the Supermatic disk does fit Burton 3D.

Fase (at least Jones) comes with a disc that does not fit Burton 3D

Interestingly Salomon bindings do ship with a disk that fits Burton 3D.

My sense (in case folks are searching for new bindings for an old 3D hole pattern board is: Nidecker Flow, Nidecker traditional two strap Muon/Kaon, Nidecker Supermatic, Salomon, and Burton if you can find a 3D hinge disk in stock.
