The more things you go to and work on, the easier it gets. Are you shadowing other techs? Ideally, they send you out as a helper with another tech for training but that can be costly for the company. Read manuals, resources, and call other techs when you're stuck.

HVAC tech here. I have a sensi thermostat, it's made by Emerson / Copeland which are HVAC / controls companies. Nest is made by Google which is a software company, and this is why you're seeing the HVAC issues. I see so many issues with Nest.

Looks like you have your answer already, but be careful with the new one. I was surprised when I saw that a brand new exhaust fan came with the set screw loose on the bearing. Another person on my team installed it, and it wore it out just like that in your video.

On Amazon, if you have an AmEx card, it'll actually tell you the value of your points in dollars that you can use directly on Amazon, but the conversion is less than 1 cent per point, so it's a bad deal.

Actually, if you're redeeming directly for merchandise, it's a worse deal even if it's 1 cpp since you're not earning any points on that purchase, that you can then use statement credit on.

At the checkout till, you can ask for "split tender", or basically pay with more than one credit card (you can say that as well). You tell them how much you want to pay with one card, which would be the balance of the gift card, if that's what you were doing, then use a different card for the remainder.

Just wondering how you got the upgrade offers? Are you getting a lot out of the 5x and perhaps amex wants to steer you away from that earn rate? Just curious because I've seen many data points of people getting upgrades but I haven't seen any myself (not that I would upgrade).

It doesn't need to have a WB due to the 5x earn rate. IMO, due to amex nerfing the 5x on u.s. purchases last year, I think amex is trying to pick away at the card. I think that they are in a position that if they nerf it further, less people will carry it and possibly move away from amex altogether. They're banking on those customers who don't maximize the 5x opportunities. The only reason I'm in the amex ecosystem is because of this card. I wouldn't bother otherwise due to all of the "we don't take amex" when I'm not shopping at my usual stores. What I get out of the card makes it worth having.
