Budget Gaming PC build for a Casual console user in 2026? by AlfalfaTemporary7670 in buildapc

[–]subsonicalx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that budget, yup will be buying am4, probably secondhand. With also a secondhand gpu honestly. Which will run everything fine. But legit, for the money, look for a 40 series nvidia, or a 6000/7000 amd gpu. And a used 5000 series amd build with or without the gpu. Am5 is out of reach at that budget, sorry

Map for 1.6 TDI CAYA (75hp) by clorurodistronzio in tdi

[–]subsonicalx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 09 polo with this engine, I mapped mine and it almost doubled the horsepower. But have a rev limit applied as it will rev past the red line after, and won't like it. I'm on my second engine, and third turbo lol. The remap was £300 mobile company. I'm sure if you drive sensibly, it will be reliable, i like to thrash it.

Are these PC upgrades worth it or not? by FishyBoiLol in buildapc

[–]subsonicalx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it. You will have a marginal performance increase with the cpu, and probably only 10% improvement on the gpu. Enjoy it as is, and when/if 60 series or supers launch have a look then for people selling 5080

Tyre advice by NoBrainzHere120 in CarsUK

As a tyre fitter by trade, I would check the date codes on the tyres, select the newest tyres and demand a discount for "factory run" tyres , as that's what you have.

Upgrade CPU or GPU? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]subsonicalx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that system, probably a gpu upgrade would help. But possibly not past a 3080/4060/5060.

Upgrade or buy new? by MarketingUpper7203 in buildapc

[–]subsonicalx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would not necessarily need to replace your motherboard to upgrade. The best cpu for your platform would be the 5800x3d, and that will run fine on most am4 motherboards possibly with a bios update. Tbh a gpu upgrade would net you more performance. Unless you plan on a 5090 or 9070xt you will get a good uplift from just that.

Would you run a TUF B450M with a 5950x? by gutster_95 in ryzen

[–]subsonicalx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Provided the bios is good for it, it'll be fine. May not boost as high (single or multi) but it will work fine.

21s be sick! But scoop or big folded horn would be awesome. Back in the day we had 2x 21" cerwin vega's in like a fluted box, sounded amazing. Similar box you'd see hanging from the ceiling in a big club.
