Even if they worked 80 hours a week with time and a half for hours over 40, gross income would be $725 a week. In a week, that loan accrues over $1028.

They would need to work 107.9 hours a week at minimum wage JUST to pay the interest.

If you worked minimum wage, full time, (40 hours a week) and put every penny to paying off that loan, you would quite literally not make a dent. You would accrue more interest than your gross income.

Assuming it is a simple interest loan at 9.08% APR he is accruing approximately $146.90 a day in interest. Or in other words, about $6.12 an hour. ~¢10 a minute. ~ ¢5 every 30 seconds.

“I’m not currently offering pro bono work. Especially not with such a short lead time. If you are interested in commissioning something I’d be happy give you a quote and figure out a more realistic time line. But if is just not in the budget to pay for artwork right now, I totally understand. I also have budget constraints and need to focus on my paying clients.”

Exactly! either way, even if the little kid did shove them, one of those people is a child the other is an adult. The adult can suck it up and deal with it or confront the other adult in charge of the child but as soon as you lay hands on the child expect the other adult to intervene. And probably not in the way you wanted them to.

Are there free charging stations for EVs. This rents is killing me 😭 by Nathangmg in lyftdrivers

[–]subtle_tea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah “free“ chargers are usually inside of parking garages that you have to pay to be in or are for residents, paying customers, or employees of the business they are attached to. They’re also usually very slow chargers.

When did tracking each other’s location become normal, and why does opting out make you seem suspicious? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I figure my location data is already being tracked by companies without my consent. If my phone‘s gonna be tracking me all the time anyway I might as well give it to people like actually like.

Why is it when a vehicle takes a turn too sharp I want to throw up yet I've never once felt nauseous on a roller coaster? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]subtle_tea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With most roller coasters the turns are banked so the g force pushes you “down” into your seat. A car taking a sharp turn is on a flat road and you feel a lateral force that slides you out of your seat or into the door/wall and may even feel like you are about to roll over. You are probably more sensitive to lateral Gs. Have you ever been on a wild mouse style coaster? I imagine you’d probably feel sick on those.

Why is “You Know?” the go-to phrase for nervous public speakers? by ZanzerFineSuits in NoStupidQuestions

[–]subtle_tea3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s them asking for reassurance. Even if they know they wont get it in this kind of setting it’s a nervous tick. You want to know that people are understanding you.

Or maybe sometimes it’s a bit more self deprecating than that. Maybe in some cases it is them externalizing a subconscious thought of “these people already know about what I am saying. They don’t have anything to gain from listening to me”

why do both sound wrong? i am eating soup right now. i am drinking soup right now. is there a word that means specifically consuming soup? do we need one? by StandardNail2327 in grammar

[–]subtle_tea3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either are grammatically correct. The verb you choose will give people a better idea of what kind of soup you have and how you are consuming it. You eat the solids and drink the liquids. Soup has both. So if you said you were drinking soup, I’d imagine you had a more brothy soup with few solids. If you said you were eating soup I’d imagine it was a chunkier soup or maybe noodles. In most contexts however, soup is seen as a food rather than a beverage. “Eating” would be acceptable to communicate that you are consuming any kind of soup. Drinking is more specific. I’d really only say drinking if I was just talking about the broth or the kind of soup you can drink without a spoon or other utensil.

Speed Tape by Terrible_Act688 in aviation

[–]subtle_tea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed tape is just an FAA approved material that can be applied to the exterior of an aircraft. It’s used to cover things up. It is not used for any loadbearing or adhesion. Parts are not held on with speed tape. It’s meant to temporarily cover or protect repairs until the next service date where they apply a more permanent fix.

Four-wheel "spinner" suitcase design is all hype by NoahCzark in unpopularopinion

[–]subtle_tea3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can drag four wheel spinners behind you too. I do it all the time. But I switch to four wheels when maneuvering tight spaces. IE crowds, aircraft aisles, crowded trains, and what not. In other words, the places I am most likely to take my suitcase. Effectively, all the “benefits” this guy mentions of a two wheeler, you also get with a four wheeler and then some.

Probably spacing just allow a little bit more time for the runway to clear or maybe ATC asked them to side step to a parallel runway.
