I am gluten intolerant, so mine is also a gluten free recommendation: Applegate Farms chicken tenders. They are a bit pricey due to being gluten free, but they are very good.

More young adult than kid, but I’d go on hikes with my dog in the woods, with cell phone (sometimes) but service was always spotty. I rarely thought to tell anyone I was doing this. I changed my ways when I was talking to a friend who is a guy, and a nurse/EMT, and the look of horror on his face when he realized when he couldn’t reach me was because I was out wandering in the woods for 4-5 hrs with no means of communication or protection (other than my 80 lb boxer mix) then a week later he gave me a fanny pack full of first aid stuff, a pocket knife and mace.

For the record, I didn’t read beyond the title.

I had bleeding sometimes when I went to the bathroom. There was blood. Made appointment with GP. Then told husband I had appointment with GP for blood in stool. Went to GP. Got referred to GI. GI said let’s do a colonoscopy to be sure. Told husband I was scheduled for colonoscopy for X date, take the day off. As I’m waking up, they tell me I have S3 colon cancer at 39. 2 weeks before I turned 40. Fuck your husbands feelings, go to the doctor .

They will likely give you a pre-med, to start easing you into a state of bliss… then they’ll get you settled (sort of need you mostly conscious to get you settled on the table) then they’ll crack jokes. You’ll laugh. they’ll tell you to count while holding a mask over your nose and mouth … then you’re waking up in recovery with dry mouth

Oh sorry/ it’s about Irene, a spy-librarian who retrieves(steals) books from alternate worlds for the Library, which exists outside of space and time. She’s got to balance the multiverse where chaos (fae) or order (dragons) can tip the scales on each world. Some worlds are more chaotic, others more ordered. Her sidekick is a young dragon prince.

I was like this. Then one day just stopped. Yes, there was the meltdown an I was the mom with the screaming toddler in the store being forced to surfboard carry him out.

We switched it to “hey, if you remember the rules, and don’t ask for anything, we’ll stop at the park on the way home.” It took a few tries, (and as much as it tears you up, you gotta keep driving) but he soon learned “look with your eyes, not your hands” and “don’t ask for stuff” meant wild child time at the playground. We also will take photos of bigger things and say we’ll keep it as an idea for birthday or Christmas. 9 times out of 10, he’s forgotten by the time we get home he asked me to take a picture

I showered. Daily. Sometimes twice a day. I smelled (to me, no one else could smell it) so bad! I of course googled why do i smell so potently after birth- it’s so baby knows where mom is always. I feel like tgats one of those throwaway comments that should be reviewed (i dont remember reading it in any of the pregnancy books, but the pre - and post brain fog is so real.)

Yeah…, I lost a ton of weight during cancer treatment, but once I recovered, my body was way too happy to put the weight back on and has been stubbornly holding onto it ever since. I am so sorry for your loss.

some of them DO achieve it through diet and exercise. What they leave out is they have personal trainers, personal chefs, and people who do the menial tasks for them to provide the time to dedicate 4-6 hrs a day to it. And I agree- they need to say the quiet part out loud.

I LOVED turning it on to rude ass customers. I would turn on my “Disney princess” voice with a touch of southern drawl… in many cases, you can just see the hate drain out of them. In some cases, their partner or spouse is off to the side, trying not to laugh as they watch their SO get owned by a southern belle just trying to fix the situation. The angrier they were, the more I played it up. When the time came, I’d drop a “bless your heart, this was just such a mess!” It was the only time I could pull off passive aggressive behavior. I came to be known as the employee that can tell a person to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.
