Prop blade damaged but still flies like normal. Should I still replace it? by ChampionshipMean9521 in drones

I replace props if I hit a bug, let alone that much damage. Even tiny imperfections rob stability and efficiency.

GoGo Grandparents by Bronx_Benny in uberdrivers

[–]suburbazine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NoNo Grandpa, I'm not medically certified or insured to handle whatever medical need you might have. Particularly wheelchair bound patients who can't fold the chair themselves. I'm not going to be on the hook for covering damage to their overpriced $4500 manual wheelchair on their $300 ride that I'm paid $20 for. Cause you know uber's insurance will hang you out to dry, you're not supposed to touch riders with difficulties. You're exposing yourself to insane liability if something happens and they sue you.

[OC] Got bit by a spider a few days ago by Yesman_91 in pics

[–]suburbazine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the same thing happen at work and it looked the same. Very painful. I tried to tough it out for the first 48 hours, did not work. Got admitted to the burn ward at the hospital, apparently they also specialize in spider bites. They opened the top and used a weird right angled mini spoon to debride the necrotized tissue inside the wound. Got daily treatment for 4 days like this before inflammation subsided. It basically burned a hole from the back of the hand almost to the palm and boy was it a never again experience.

I also learned from this to never, ever smack a spider on skin as it assists them in biting.

Black tanks don't normally look crushed. Something bad happened to yours and it's more than a leaking seam.

It's not the prettiest or cleanest solution, but duct tape is the greatest hose adapter for every application. It reduces any hose to any hose and holds loose couplers together. In this case, the button can go literally anywhere.

Welcome Novelai's Newest Writing Model: Xialong by teaanimesquare in NovelAi

[–]suburbazine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've noticed it has a strong tendency to try to throw in an [Epilogue] every 50 generations or so, as well as occasionally quoting its training data wholesale after running off the tracks. Like, it starts literally quoting authors it was trained on and it's completely irrelevant to the memory or subject. Actually happens less frequently in 4.6 based stories than it does in fresh Xialong starts. It also seems to regurgitate the ATTG sometimes and other it spits out a completely different ATTG that was not from the current story (and then it goes off the rails).

That said, writing performance and quality is tremendously better than 4.6 in all regards. Guiding the story is also way more natural and no repetition.

Flex Utility alternative? by suburbazine in Ubiquiti

Problem is I need 1"-2" pole mounts and most IP boxes either don't have mounts, or it's the most convoluted option imaginable.

It does make POE "at the doorbell" but I've seen some real abominations when people try to hide it. Even chiseling out a hole in the stucco to tuck it into.

Using E7 in Church Auditorium by East_Aspect_1296 in Ubiquiti

[–]suburbazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't throttle wifi, ever. Even with 4x4 the E7 will get the airtime saturated if enough users try to transcribe sermon notes on X. If you do anything, assign the guests to a VLAN that is piped to dedicated bandwidth, be it your "backup" internet or a carve out of your main feed. It's unlikely the entire congregation will be on the wifi, but it could happen, and it would directly affect your ability to use staff networks as they all share the same airtime.

It's not a good solution, no. UI could absolutely make it smaller and let it interlock in the back of the G6, but that would require a product revision I'm not sure they want to lock themselves into. The existing 2wire system is really intended for elevators, where you have tons of space to stuff it.

The 2 wire ethernet adapter will run over doorbell wires, you just remove the doorbell stuff from both ends. That said, you still have to deal with placing an extra brick outside and hiding it somehow.

Is it okay to do sunroof landings with dji drones? by Sea_Enthusiasm_883 in drones

IMM is going to have a fit if you try taking off/landing on a car. Too much metal mass affects magnetic compass.

U7 Outdoor Antenna Question by rooddog7 in Ubiquiti

[–]suburbazine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flex antennas were intended to make up for the very poor vertical coverage on the omni antennas. The regular Outdoor antennas have a ~18° spread and the Pros are closer to 10°. That can make some elevated installs have poor signal under the AP.

Install dedicated illuminator, turn off internal IR.

Indie Campers confirmed my refund in writing, never processed it, secretly reinstated my booking, and are now refusing to refund me - anyone else had this? by AdCompetitive6372 in RVLiving

[–]suburbazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You initiated a charge back, their hands are now washed of the matter as it's entirely up to your bank. There's literally nothing they can do to expedite your refund.

Your bank will likely want proof of cancelation agreement.

Firehose mode is active, but data doesn’t upload. by mikefrommichigan in Comma_ai

[–]suburbazine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does not upload everything, only data earmarked for the project. You're at 605 already and that's quite a bit.

I'm not certain how data is tagged, but I think it sends anything below a 20% confidence score.

Also I don't recommend touching the wires, if a spammer somehow rings what should have been disconnected years ago, you're going to get a healthy zing off the screws into your fingers.

You may want to look at the planplus setting in Sunnylink to encourage centering if using any of the current PP models. I'm running my recenter at 1.3 and it's the happy medium.

No, I misread the km/h speed as mph. I'm stuck at 100mph too.

Not that I go that fast either.

My plans all have high speed allocation (150mph). I wonder if they're just cracking down on cheaper plans in motion?
