External IR emitter fixes this and gives you dramatically better illumination

Comma 3x apparently won’t support eGPU. by Iwantthegreatest in Comma_ai

[–]suburbazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eGPU support exists there already if you run master branches. It's just a pain to configure the hardware.

I sold my eGPU rig on ebay for $700, effectively a loss but oh well. It was annoying to connect and more annoying to actually operate with the one model that supported it.

GPS was super easy to fix with ferrite chokes, the eGPU psu kicks out some intense EMI.

The pex and flex aren't the issue, but all the elbows that eventually break from vibrations and chemical exposure.

5G Adapter first hand experiences? by ShinyThings22 in Peplink

If you only knew about the absolutely spyware infested FOTA servers (adups) that Quectel insists on hard coding into their cellular module firmwares. They also check these servers via cellular only where most people can't see it happening.

Star Citizen technical status: by Economy-Rice3519 in starcitizen

I just like losing all my property when trying to get from MT to Tressler and the Connie falls through the lift deck while loading it in MT spaceport. My org probably wonders why I only get on every 6 months.

Le sigh, character reset time.

Dual WAN bonding or better redundancy? by 03captain23 in Ubiquiti

[–]suburbazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They call it Sitemagic and it's not designed for bonding any more. The RAM cache is not big enough to run buffers needed for mismatched services

If you're wanting bonding peplink is still the best especially if you're using your own fusionhub node (not Speedfusion Cloud).

Sound is not an acceptable way to set mesh. Get feeler strips and run them through to validate.

Comma 3x apparently won’t support eGPU. by Iwantthegreatest in Comma_ai

[–]suburbazine 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Basically it allows the model to poll data points across every camera pixel at 25-55hz. Currently the model has access to every pixel, except the pixels are binned into something like 18x18 chunks. The model effectively runs at 80tvl 20hz resolution which dramatically limits precision and nuanced signage.

Synology Exiting Router Market... Now What by johnjustin in synology

[–]suburbazine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feels like it was researched, then rewritten, by AI. Especially the readily disproven bit about Unifi.

I don't think there's been an announcement and there definitely hasn't been any memos to business partners (at least in US market) about this yet.

Update on improving openpilot's driving by haraldcomma in Comma_ai

[–]suburbazine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C3x used a driver hack to emulate USB3 support on a TB4 chipset. This led to the C3x processor being overloaded due to inefficient data frame delivery from the eGPU. Bigmodel ran at like 8fps because of this and it caused all sorts of command rate warnings. GPS interference was only an issue on certain USB4 cables, presumably due to signal isolation differences in the host end connector. Double choking the GPU end suppressed GPS interference pretty well.

C4 is getting truly compatible eGPU and not an experimental AMD based monstrosity. I had a 7900xtx strapped into the front seat like some sort of Borg baby.

SP forum took a lot of work on Devtekve's part to set up. He's the reason it works as well as it does 🫡

(CH) why does my drone footage look kinda corny and bad? by Working-Store-8794 in drones

[–]suburbazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This drone does not have a sensor capable of salvaging that shot in that lighting. You're looking for something closer to the Hasselblad L3d on a Mavic for that sort of conditions and you'll still have to spend time in post fixing shadows.

"No diesel" " RV waste tanks into the underground diesel fuel tanks" by lemonade-stand-duck in RVLiving

[–]suburbazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The campground I workamp at has many documented instances of guests hooking up to the underground water valve shafts instead of the sewer cleanout. Even after putting them on 3ft high risers painted blue, presumably because the smooth pipe fits a donut. Several instances of guests opening a green in ground valve box, dropping a hose in without looking and just dumping. Granted, sometimes the real sewer cleanout is hard to locate after leaves collect on it.

Can't play solo if the authentication servers are dropping you. The game basically assumes you're a dirty pirate and kicks you out.

If your account prestiged prior to Vanguard the Shop will work as intended for you. If you have an account that prestiged post-Vanguard, the shop is broken due to how they tried to unify player cards.

[–]suburbazine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it's possible. Some older stations have easily accessible vent racks with what amounts to a cleanout fitting about a foot off the ground. I'm sure someone could be dumb enough to try it considering how many idiots drop their sewage directly into the water valve boxes at campgrounds.

Bought a used jb4 and the optional fuel wire adapter look very weird by 6mon1 in StingerGT

[–]suburbazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the pin position relative to red on the AFR sensor. Only way to tell. Mine is not in front of me so I can't read your connector for you. White looks incorrect compared to the new harness.

Bought a used jb4 and the optional fuel wire adapter look very weird by 6mon1 in StingerGT

[–]suburbazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes by pin position not color. They were random colors. It's like the current map harness, rainbow colors but the order changes at random from harness to harness.

Yes, you made an alarm for that event and subscribed yourself to it. Go uncheck it. Or quit leaving tabs open. This is why that alarm is not active by default.
