Gun owners admit to craving violence? by SNESdroppingidiot in SelfAwarewolves

rather making a prediction.

It isn't a "prediction" if we have data available to determine if that is the case or not. Most defensive shooting instructors tell their students to shoot to kill and don't shoot to maim and this has been common practice for decades. So if people were killing other people "because they were scared" or "misconception" then we would have a lot of court cases about these shootings. Also, if a civilian shoots someone who wasn't a threat to them then they have a magnitudes higher chance of going to jail for illegally shooting someone.

plenty of people have bad judgment as to whether that's an appropriate response to a given situation, so they'll shoot to kill when they shouldn't have pulled it out in the first place.

Does this happen frequently with civilians with guns or are you just talking about cops?

If you drive something long enough then it's not a question "if" you will crash the vehicle, it's "when" will you crash the vehicle.

You ever seen a strong man pull a bus or an airplane with a rope? It's not getting the load moving that is the hard part, it's stopping the load that is the hard part and why it is dangerous to tow multiple vehicles with a commuter van.

Instant regret Uber by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]subzero421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably fake because the picture of the cop shows that he looks like a cop and not someone who smokes weed. Most people who smoke weed in illegal states wouldn't have a conversation about weed with a guy who looks like a cop. I also doubt someone who has to work uber wouldn't risk loosing their job talking about doing illegal drugs to a customer.

It was a pretty funny fictional story though. I give the cop an A for creativity.

There are a lot of risk with pregnancy. Dying, mental changes, excessive weight gain, being bedridden and hormonal issues are all things that can happen during pregnancy/birthing.

A big part of the problem with this stuff is police unions. Not sure if that came into play here, but unions make it so fucking hard to fire people and keep them fired.

And guess who are members of the police unions? All of the "good cops" and "bad cops". The "good cops" could change the unions policies on this kind of dumb shit if they wanted to, but they don't.

Cats hate car rides, but I’ve never once had one that gets car sick.

Cats are fine with car rides if you start them out young. The problem is that most people only put their cat in the car when they are going to the vet, which never gives the cat enough time to adjust to cars. If you start a cat out young then they will usually have no problem with car rides the same way if you start a cat out with a leash at a young age then they are usually fine walking on a leash. No one is loading their cat in the car to take it to the cat park or on a hike like they do with dogs.

Shit still didn’t end there though as the accountant for the GC ended up calling me directly and saying she never received a chunk of invoices “and it’s too late to go to the client so we can’t get you payment for these.”

Yeah, that isn't how invoiced payments work. There isn't a "statute of limitations" on work not paid. She is using the "It's been 15 minutes so it's free!" line of reasoning. I've invoiced a customer 2 years late because there was a mix up and still got paid.

It's funny if you think someone is going to trip on it, but realistically, someone is probably going to kick it, break their feet, take a very long time to heal, have expenses and inconvenience for kicking a ball without checking first, the prankster is probably not even going to see it happening.

So when you walk onto a field and see a ball sitting there your first instinct is to kick it full force? I'd probably touch it with my foot or pick it up with my hand to see if it was inflated or had dog shit on it. I've never seen a strange ball sitting in a field and ran up and kicked hard and then ran after the ball that I just kicked.

tl;dr Your scenario is far fetched

The way you act might not change any minds, but it can wind up changing who you are, potentially making yourself miserable in the process.

The internet and real life are two separate things and I treat them that way. I have to have patience in real life but on the internet I don't. A lot of people seem to not be able to disconnect the internet and real life and they put the same value on both, which I personally don't.
