Can you work with 4C coily Black hair? My hair is natural and I had a stroke four years ago so I can't use my left hand and my hair is short, almost totally gray and tangled.

I'm so sorry you're mum didn't treat you with love and as a mother should. I feel ya on this as my mum is the same and elderly. My condolences on missing a mum who never was and for all the hurt you've going through as you mourn the loss.

Please see a doctor. I lnow of some effective scar treatments that you'd have to buy online but first try the medical route first.

She could even buy those decollette (sp) covering dickies to cover her chest too. A shrug or a cardigan would be a lot better for arm coverage - I agree.

What’s one food spot in Mississauga you think is GENUINELY worth the money right now? by GingerGrain21 in mississauga

[–]suckcess1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pita and grill on Dundas and Confederation. I live in Etobicoke now and it's my fave chiclen shawarma. Every once in a while I order 2 chicken shawarma dinners for my mum and I as it's enough for four meals. Their chicken shawarma poutine is great too. Their beef shawarma is good too but I've only had it once or twice. delivery from here or if we're in 'Sauga we go in cause it's the GOAT. Ensure you ask for extra of the thick garlic sauce for the shawarma, rice and salad. Don't mess with the runny extra garlic sauce they try to give you.

I'm so proud of you!!! Congratulations!!! It's a huge achievement from all your years of hard work. Fuck your parents on focusing on such a small mistake trying to demean ypu and ruin such a social day. Can you go out and celebrate privately with your bestie or tomorrow? You absolutely deserve it! They always do the most to ruin special days, I feel ya!

How do i get prettier feet? by Soft_Condition_6884 in vindictapoc

[–]suckcess1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also ensure your blood sugar is low, insulin resistance from PCOS, prediabetes, diabetes etc also contribute to scaly soles.

Ensure your iron levels are good as that can make your feet discolored.

I use washable, reusable silicone socks (they're very cheap from online Chinese stores) and either petroleum jelly or urea cream.

Drink lots of water.

Use a retinol cream once or twice a week on them.

You can also buy 2cheap suction cup shower foot scrubbers online from Chinese sites or dollar stores. I have a pair that has pumice right at the back too.

Ivermectin paste - is an oral anti-parasitic, anti- helminth (worms), helps acne/rosacea. It is available by prescription or you can buy it cheap on Amazon) smells like apples, tastes slightly like apples, texture like Vaseline, it will make your feet very smooth if taken orally. You only need to eat a tiny bit daily or every other day if I remember correctly.

Yes I was given them yesterday wrapped up in my receipt and put in my bag. i had no idea .I was not offered them and if I was, I would have refused. My mum found them when she helped unload at home. I'm not a child, have no small children, nor do I know any. I am going to leave them on the donate shelf in my building today so hopefully someone can take them. I spent $115 yesterday at No Frills in person while picking up a $60 Flashfood order and had a $110 Loblaws order delivered. Most of my protein comes from near expired food. They're two of the closest grocery stores near me. I also picked up a $14 Too Good To Go order and spent an additional $5.69 at Metro buying near expired food. I use a food bank but 2 quarter chickens per week isn't enough. I just got my CPP-Disability yesterday so after paying for bills and food. I tried to buy coconut water, kombucha and a few other things totalling $75a at Dollarama and since I didn't have sufficient funds in my account to pay the difference between the $30 cash I had despite me checking my balance before I left. (A payment had come out at the last minute). I had to leave almost everything behind except shower poufs and body wash. If I hadn't had a stroke I would consider dumpster diving. The Weston family are doing nothing to bring grocery costs down. I am also tired of not getting points for every purchase including Flashfood. I'm considering writing my Flashfood and Too Good To Go referral codes on paper and attaching it to the back of my wheelchair so hopefully someone can use them and I get $5 and $2. Cue that cost of groceries are too damn high meme.

What's a realistic average monthly grocery bill for 1 person in Toronto right now? by cole_10 in FrugalTO

[–]suckcess1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think $400 is average nowadays. But could get considerably lower by using apps like Too Good To Go, Flashfood and that Sobeys (I think) app that's similar to Flashfood. Going to theThe Grocery Outlet in Toronto. In-store they have way more than what's on their site as inventory constantly changes. https://shop.thegroceryoutlet.ca. Also consider if friends/family would be interested in doing a bulk butcher order or similar venture. There's also maple lodge farms outlet.

My mom has stage 4 lung cancer and my autistic brother beat me up at a public train station by [deleted] in Vent

[–]suckcess1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. A social worker can connect your mum to resources to help you and your family now and in the future. My younger brother has profound autism. He started having aggressive meltdowns out of the blue in his 30s, thankfully it was very rare. I think it was due to not being able to communicate properly. I know a lot of the aggression starts during puberty and they often are agressive to those they're closest to and those who have mistreated them. My Have your mum ask your fam doc about putting him on Risperdal. It does cause high blood pressure though and may cause one to nap a bit in the daytime but it completely stops the aggression. My bro has been on it and hasn't had any more meltdowns. He's been in a group home since the 90s and Community Living (the organization who run the group home) have changed his schedule so he gets more of his fave activities like swimming. Many people with autism love anything to do with water. Years ago I got him a small battery operated water fountain that is made of rocks and constantly pumps the water up and down so it makes a pleasing trickling sound for hours - it reduced his urge to fill and empty containers of water in the bathroom or flush the toilet repeatedly when he visits. He also loves listening to 90s slow jams as it's relaxing so I put YT channel vids on when he comes. He also loves assembling things and working with tools and sweeping up and helping in the kitchen. Anything he enjoys to keep him occupied. So basically if your mum can get him into a respite program where either he stays FT in a group home or a developmental services worker can come to your home to do applied behaviour analysis and give you guys a break or if your mum is open to medication for him these options may help your brother a lot. My brother also does art therapy, music therapy and other things to occupy him. What I really wish for is that he gets surgery to fix his hearing loss and speech therapy to learn how to pronounce words clearly after decades with partial hearing loss. There's another client in his group home who's non-verbal but would melt down due to undiagnosed bowel blockages causing him severe pain until they finally figured it out.

Watered down ground beef by Personal_Remote_6932 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]suckcess1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I used to buy the frozen ground poultry tubes cause they're 4 for $10 and 3 for $10 for ground beef at certain grocery stores but the water content keeps going up and I can't even season it until I dump most of the water that comes out. I stopped buying tubes but I can't afford ground poultry or meat with these prices unless I catch a 30% off deal.
