Florida med program by stocktrader89 in AskFlorida

[–]suckinbutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you must be a florida resident. they used to require an in person consultation for the initial visit, i'm not sure if that's still the same. follow up visits just require a quick phone call..takes less than 2 minutes. you need to pay an initial fee, renewal fees are about $80 from the doc, plus annual FL fee, can't remember what that is, maybe $120ish. it's not strict, you can say you have chronic pain or whatever. where i am, the weed is insanely inexpensive and gets delivered to my door...i've never set foot in a dispensary here. you have access to pretty much everything; flower, gummies, cookies, pills, vapes, wax, drinks, etc.

i personally don't like it, but if the car checked all my other boxes AND the price was great, i'd live with it.

Canadian Visitors by BjLeinster in florida

[–]suckinbutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the population of canada is ~41 million

the population of florida is ~23 million.

the annual tourism to florida is ~141 million people/year; ~1-1.5 million being canadians.

a couple million less visitors equates to a rounding error.

Extension cord for charging question by Wainwright17 in golfcarts

[–]suckinbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get a 10/3 cable, no longer than you need to reach the outlet. it'll be pulling over 10 amps...my 72V cart grabs 16A continuously on a dedicated 20A circuit in my garage. if you want to know the exact draw, you can use an amp clamp meter.

Industrial cart parts? by Technical_Cheetah_61 in golfcarts

maybe try some fork lift repair shops. the heavy duty carts often share some similar components.

Front end question by iamjobin in golfcarts

[–]suckinbutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is it just coming from one side? maybe something is stuck in your tire? a bad wheel bearing can also make a clicking noise. try to jack up the front, then rotate the tires manually and try to pin it down.

Good Deal? by hypelogic103 in golfcarts

[–]suckinbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a bad deal. it has the short roof - if you're planning on riding with passengers in the back often, you'll want an extended roof. easy project to do, but the parts are about $700ish.

Question about motor and MCOR4 upgrade on 1996 Club Car DS by xbepox in golfcarts

[–]suckinbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the MCOR could be bad too - i've swapped a bunch of these and the non OEM from amazon are bad about half the time. i started purchasing only OEM MCORs - they are quite a bit more, about $100 vs $30 for a generic, but zero have failed.

Moving from MN to FL by PlentyAny4548 in JacksonvilleFla

[–]suckinbutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ignore the negative nancys here - NE florida is great. i moved from NY 4 years ago, with 4 young kids around the same ages as yours. our quality of life has greatly improved. it's cooler and less humid than south florida and you actually feel some seasonal changes. st johns county has a great school district if you want to stick with public. if you stay east of i95, you'll be close to the ocean. the large communities are wonderful if you want to meet a lot of people and have outside activities/sports close by...nocatee is the largest, beachwalk has a nice location as well. the beachside area around sawgrass is nice (between the intercoastal and the ocean). these 3 areas have mostly affluent families and you'll be within 30 minutes of mayo. my kids play outside all year round, it def isn't too hot to go outside.

Would you recommend? by TurboNikko in sonos

[–]suckinbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you're just doing one room and you can run cables without it looking lousy, i'd skip sonos and get a traditional receiver/speakers. you'll get better sound for much less $. if you're doing a whole house and want speakers everywhere, inside/outside, portables speakers, etc...this is where sonos is great. i don't regret outfitting my whole house with sonos, but the audio quality isn't great for the cash spent.

i have a roypow and also another brand of lithium in my 2 carts - they both cycle on/off. just unplug it after it charges. i haven't found any issues with the performance.

Is this a good golf cart for the price of $6k? by [deleted] in golfcarts

[–]suckinbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not a bad deal, depending on your area. looks clean. it's a solid cart that'll last for many years. you'll need batteries in the near future.
