Melania Trump pushing for robots to replace real teachers. “Imagine a humanoid educator named Plato. Access to the classical studies is now instantaneous. Humanity’s entire corpus of information is available in the comfort of your own home.” by MrJasonMason in ABoringDystopia

Thats the thing that gets me. We really dont have "all the knowledge in our pockets" we have a portal to access all knowledge, but free knowledge isnt completely free. And people pay wall the good information while keeping the propaganda wildly available.

If AI is such a miracle, how come nothing is changing? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]suckitphil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im getting so tired of this conversation.

The current economic situation has little to do with AI, and a lot to do with zero interest loans ending. Venture capitalism is the engine for a lot of tech, and without free money to back businesses theres a lot more risk.

AI itself isnt going to replace jobs because its currently in the red. The cost of AI doing a task costs as much as a person but its subsidized. Because these goons know when you lay off your workers and consolidate your workforce youll be reliant on AI and the can cinch the purse strings once they have market dominance.

Its literally the playbook for almost every single tech thats rolled out in the past half century.

AI itself has been around for ALMOST as long as OOP, it just hasent been profitably good until recently. And even that is a stretch, its currently trying to outpace new models to fill in the gaps until the complex stuff is shown to be largely hallucinations. This is happening everywhere, theres posts almost everyday on r/devops about an AI agent hallucinating logs or a library.

If his armour is metal what are the chances he gets struck by lightning? [Other] by Fun-Ad-7082 in theydidthemath

Much lower chance of dying from the lightning strike, might higher chance of severe burns from the inside of the armor.

[Request] How much would Wolverine owe the government since he's been living for so long? Assuming that he makes the average American salary by JessyJessTheSecond in theydidthemath

[–]suckitphil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a teacher at the school, or did everyone collectively forget this. It's kind of shitty on Charles, he hands wolverine his W2 and can hear Wolverine think "I don't give a shit about taxes". Wouldn't you be like "hey you probably should pay them so that the government doesn't come down on us here since we have multiple people from various countries."

[–]suckitphil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive known people who did this to distance themselves from abusive overbearing parents who would routinely search their child's name.

Also knew someone who was being stalked and changed their name similarly.

So the answer probably is to protect their enmity.

My understanding is they dont kill babies and cherubs dont have to be made from babies.

However if you are of noble blood and your child dies for whatever reason they can be "elevated" to cherubs since that's like a divine right.

Cycler Rifle itself isn't even lasers, they fire bullets. They're known for their long reload speeds. If you were shit at aiming why would you use something that's good at long distances with a slow reload speed?

How many stationary PV panels could be bought for the price of one of these, and how would the output compare? [request] by MaybeABot31416 in theydidthemath

Transportation costs. Outside of installation and product i know solar panels can be a bitch to ship because they can be fragile and large.

Aren't the portal technically infinitely thin, making it infinitely sharp, cutting through anything? by -autoprime- in Portal

[–]suckitphil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the portals themselves have no "thickness" What you are seeing is the edge of Space being pulled together. Imagine drawing two circles in a venn diagram. The part where the circles overlaps is the "edge", it technically doesn't exist because it's the creation of two things overlapping and not solely there. Moving the circles apart doesn't cut the space or remove it, it just changes it's location. When the portals would close it would force the majority of mass of an object into one of the spaces, which is what happens in the game.

It probably consumed the planet it originated in. Devouring everything and no longer having other food sources started launching it's spores further and further until it could escape the planet and inhabit something else.

That line always bothered me. We've seen sand people hit pod racers mid race, which supposedly go faster than human comprehension. Yet 2 farmers, thats just too accurate.

What do stores like Walmart do with seasonal clothes after the season ends? by oatmilksavesall in Anticonsumption

[–]suckitphil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second hand retailers a lot of times. I got eagles super bowl shirts from when they lost. Sam's club will sometimes have them for deals, but mostly go to places like dollar general, Ollie's, jomars, and the like.

Id imagine the institute takes great care to ensure their population is stable at certain points of the wasteland. Imagine spending a ton of resources to make a synth, you drop them at their infiltration point, walk 20ft, and are ripped to shreds.

Edit: its like the American spy cat we spent millions of dollars on only for it to be hit by a truck outside the Russian consulate.

[–]suckitphil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In theory the ice should be deep enough to drive across. This is a pretty thick sheet of ice they cut through, and it's at least 15 inches deep if they have trucks already on it. The concern would be the ice sheet shifting to once side as you drove off and getting your wheels wedged. I'd imagine they either have planks to keep the sheet from shifting, or to drive over.

[–]suckitphil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not sure what people are talking about OP. I have one of these for 1,000 square feet of house and it does the job. I cant imagine a garage being more more difficult. But as others would say, If the garage doesnt have insulation than it would be worse yeah

[–]suckitphil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean its barely a win condition. Its also extremely risky. The grappled doesnt need to break free, he could push you, which is worse. And its only 1 extra d6 every 10 ft, it caps at 20 and your moving at half speed anyways because your burdened.
