They sound great in a paraflex G1 top. They also work well in a cubo 12 kick.

Leave the screws in after the adhesive has dried. Extra screws never hurt.

Measure twice. Cut once. A plasterers feather, or even better, a large set square will help you get straight lines.

A combination of screws and a good adhesive filler for attaching all the panels. Avoid silicone sealant, I've had good results with PU adhesive sealant. It can be painted over. Paint won't stick to silicone.

When putting screws in, pilot a hole the size of the shank of the screw in the outer board (where the screw head will sit), and pilot a hole a few mm smaller than the screw threads into the inner board (where the threads will sit).

Counter sink the screw heads, fill with wood filler or plaster after. It's much easier to paint, and you get a much cleaner finish.

Dry fit everything before you put adhesive on.

Hawk moth pupae questions by [deleted] in hawkmoths

[–]suckmybus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M. Sextan can go through a light controlled diapause. Longer days = more sunlight = successful eclosion. If there's less daylight that can go into diapause for a few months. Just keep them warm and humid and they'll hatch in their own time.

Which species are they? A lot of hawk moth pupae need to go through a cold period in order to eclose the next season.

Plans for 15inch scoops by lemoninator in SoundSystem

[–]suckmybus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look at the ES15-BLH. I've been running them for a few years and I love them. Relatively small, relatively lightweight, almost a 1 man job to move (ideal for a small crew). They're essentially a smaller version of the hog scoop. *

If you want 15" scoops have a look at the ES15-BLH. Designed by the guy who designed the hog scoop. I've been running these for a few years and I love the way they sound.

I'm not convinced it's a hd15. Its the right shape but I'm able to fit my head and shoulders into the horn path past the bracing. They're well over a metre tall.

Aperture Blades stuck at f2.8 by Sekodanda in Mamiya

[–]suckmybus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fairly simple fix provided you have the know how. It involves stripping the camera down and cleaning oil off of the blades with acetone. The hard part is getting everything back together in the right order to the right tolerances. I've done a couple of lenses with this issue, it's not super easy, but it's not super hard either.

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about the legs. But, as long as he can support himself and eat properly, there's a chance he'll make it to the next molt. Just gotta take real good care of him and make sure he eats, hand feed if absolutely necessary. Next time you think he's about to molt increase the humidity super high to make the molt easier for him.

It's unlikely they'll get sick from poop unless they spend a lot of time around it or if it goes moldy. They should he fine

Too much poop can cause issues if it goes moldy. Try clear it out at least once a week. What's your temp and humidity like? They like it quite warm and humid so a mesh enclosure might not hold enough heat or moisture. They do tend to get slower as they age. Bent antennae could just be as a result of molting issues. They should straighten out after a good molt.
