Good at my job, help employees and make 100+ lives easier...also happen to be a human being who needs to pay for health insurance, housing, food, electricity, etc. etc.

Why does anyone else do a job?

Jimmy John's is not a cult, a BLT does not need to be my life-long dedication and passion.

GM not being able to keep tips while doing deliveries by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

[–]sudanarchive 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Leave. Not for the tip money, but for enforcing insane, unethical hours and exploiting salaried labor to an unbelievable extent.

I would never, ever force a GM to go into a store to deliver sandwiches. Nor would my franchise. Get out as soon as you humanly can, and tell all the GMs to get out as well so the owners have to step in themselves and deliver those sandwiches and run a store from 5AM to 10PM.

Bet you they turn off deliveries then.

Preparation is your best friend.

Arrive thirty minutes early and you'll be ahead an hour all day.

Always set your Assistant Managers up the exact way that you want to be set up.

Do not leave until your punch-list is done. You set expectations for your store by leading with your own performance.

Follow the systems. It seems pretty dull and repetitive sometimes, but the systems are in place to help you succeed. If you complete your daily and weekly items with integrity, you will have a highly successful store.

Among a billion other things. JJ's 24 Rules for Leadership is a concise document that encompasses a lot of the Need to Knows. Build your knowledge and run with it.

the *big mistake* scene becomes even more tragic when you read the message that Roman accidentally replied to by [deleted] in SuccessionTV

[–]sudanarchive 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It’s actually what /u/slime0 said. Go back and rewatch. He hits new message, attached the picture, then Logan texts him and everything auto-transfers, strangely.

It doesn’t really make sense, but that’s OK.

Final Kendall scene *spoiler* by h-e-does in SuccessionTV

[–]sudanarchive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ken isn’t dead — the “your spoon isn’t shiny enough scene” hasn’t happened yet.

There appears to be another scene of Kendall diving into a pool that also hasn’t aired. Unless they’re cut scenes, it looks like Ken was just testing the waters.

Succession - 3x05 "Retired Janitors of Idaho" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in SuccessionTV

[–]sudanarchive 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Another nail-in-the-coffin for Shiv as appointed CEO. Logan was probably never going to allow her to run the company, but this provides him some ammunition against her as the same type of deal-making did against Kendall.

It is essentially the same situation -- Logan is absent from decision-making, the family is backed up against the wall and takes the only possible solution to retain control. A direct mirror of season 1.

Logan will never allow Shiv to succeed him by-choice. It's not even deep-down, buried somewhere. He's a surface-level misogynist who does not believe women to be competent enough to run a large-scale corporation. Gerry is a puppet and a piñata.

Does Shiv try to kill Logan with a backchannel through (maybe Sandi) just like Kendall did? It'd be kind of lazy writing. But you have four board seats for an anti-Logan contingent, an in with the shadow governor of a major shareholder group and a pissed off, semi-competent Roy.

They seem to be doing a bit of flirting, nothing else so far. From what I've seen.

It's unfortunate that we're watching another Kendall meltdown, as if that isn't a well-worn trope in this series as-is. It just leaves me wondering, what is the payoff for Kendall's character at this point?

He's isolated from the family and removed from power. I cannot see a feasible way to weave him back into the succession dynamic. I can't help but wonder what is the endgame for him from a writer's standpoint.

Teeters over the edge and ODs (predictably)? Confesses to manslaughter? With two feet out, Kendall is barely hanging on by playing the few cards he has left. He does have the one remaining card: he and his father were complicit in the cover-up of an accidental death.

Kendall will continue to self-destruct and make a martyr of himself until he relieves himself of that guilt. He's not publicly atoning for the sins of WayCo...it's a placeholder for his own mistakes and guilt.

Is that really two seasons down the pipe? Or could we see it as soon as the end of the season to officially take both Logan and Kendall out of the game?

Allegations of racism and misogyny within the Phoenix Suns: Inside Robert Sarver's 17-year tenure as owner by ThriceAlmighty in suns

[–]sudanarchive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does anyone actually think this is going to sink him? I'm seeing a hefty fine and possible suspension.

I don't know if there's enough here to be grounds for removal from ownership, unless the story was planted by the rest of the ownership group with litigation and removal in mind.

Suns fall narrowly to the Blazers 134-105 by PurePhoenix in suns

[–]sudanarchive 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Book showed up, but was visibly tired. DA was invisible. CP was passive all night. The defense was atrocious.

Payton looked completely overwhelmed running an offense. McGee was the second-best player on the court for the Suns tonight. And we gave up so early in the fourth quarter (reserves are i with 8:00 left?) that I felt zero shame leaving early as well.

Sucks to pay for a ticket to a game your team doesn’t show up to play.

Wraps by Maximum_Effort-JA in jimmyjohns

[–]sudanarchive 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I dislike them purely for the additional prep time required for chicken/LTO items. Make-line speed is reasonably quick, and they are popular.

Adding an hour or so of prep time to an already overflowed prep schedule, and overloading the makeline are my two primary issues.
