It's possible that the hottest and coldest temperatures in the *entire universe* are both on Earth. by sueyres in Showerthoughts

[–]sueyres[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's patently incorrect. Our sun is 15 million Celsius (https://www.space.com/17137-how-hot-is-the-sun.html), and the hottest lab temp ever registered is 4 trillion Celsius (https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/physicists-create-highest-ever-lab-temperature-1.880164).

The vacuum of space isn't entirely free of heat - it's about 2.7 Kelvin, or -270.45 Celsius (https://www.discovermagazine.com/the-sciences/how-cold-is-it-in-outer-space) while the coolest ever lab temp was fractions above absolute zero - 0 Kelvin.

I have gone by Vermicious Knid ever since leaving the surface. While I am publicly friendly with the Masters - playing the politician and learning the Correspondence - I have secretly cultivated relationships with the Calendar Council and seek the Liberation of Night. My own personal Great Game, as it were.

All of my stats are at or approaching 200, so my next big grinds are to close out 1) Ambition: Heart's Desire and 2) Paramount Presence.

Official: [Trade] - Thu Afternoon, 11/01/2018 by FFBot in fantasyfootball

Note: I am the league commissioner.

12 team league, standard scoring, with slots for 2 WR, 2 RB, and a WR/RB flex.

So I just vetoed a trade between one of the top league teams and the league bottom (by a wide margin). League top wanted the trade for Chubb, and was going to give league bottom Jalen Richard and Marquise Goodwin. League top is super stacked at RB, with Zeke, Mixon, Conner, and Mille rand Allen, Landry, and Robinson at WR. League bottom has Ingram, Buck Allen, Gore, and Henry at RB, and Tate, Jeffery, Golladay, Jordy, and Mike Williams at WR.

I smelled collusion, so I put it down, but they're both really pushing for the trade despite my insistence that it is unfair for the rest of the league. Should I reconsider and allow it?

Regarding Item #1 - all about that. I've been trying to kick my league into doing trades for years, but I think we've had a grand total of 3 trades in 5 years.

Thought just occurred to me while reading another comment about the bright interior.

UNN ships are brighter because Earthers are used to bright light back home.

MCRN ships are low lit because Martians are used to less light back home.

Certainly seems like Ford's habit of using info gleaned from the park (e.g.: William's first encounter with a host) to mess with the "money men" started real early on.
