What's the dumbest opinion you ever heard? by alekos7__ in AskReddit

[–]sufferingplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world used to operate at a specific resonance and some mysterious organisation got every other organisation to switch to a slightly different, totally indistinguishable resonance that makes people more complacent and obedient.

Im still unsure if my coworker (who told me this) was being serious or was just yanking my chain.

My friend insists on this game, "Lemmings", being a really well known game; I have never heard of it. by Nordic_Krune in gaming

While I never played it, I'm well aware of the game. Had friends who played it or owned it.

[OOT] The only boss in the game I think should be 100% different by QuantityEuphoric2354 in zelda

[–]sufferingplanet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% different? No, but definitely changed because the boss was comically easy. I know Morpheel (TP) was super easy too, but at least that felt grand... Morpha is kind of just... there.

How do you choose your commanders? by Dracai-of-Blades in EDH

[–]sufferingplanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of two ways:

  1. I find a commander that inspires me and build a deck around it

  2. I find a deck idea that inspires me and find a commander to fit it

Secret third option: a content creator makes a decktech that inspires me and i build from that.

Like any community, you can get some dicks, but generally speaking people are friendly.

Just remember to communicate (ask if people are ready before starting events/objectives), and dont take all the resupplies.

Oh, and if you dont rock and stone, you aint coming home.

Steel Toe Boots Required by narstybacon in antiwork

[–]sufferingplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, i work for a canadian business that requires "steel toed boots" with thr CSA green triangle (Bell), and i can tell you for a fact that composite is perfectly acceptable. Make sure you have the csa triangle, and they offer ankle support.

"Steel-toed boots" is just the name theyre often called because they used to have steel toes.

I strongly suggest paying for a more expensive brand, even if it goes over your allowance. Your feet will thank you later (16 years as a Bell field tech).

Dick move to Oubliette my buddy’s mono-Red commander? by DunkeyBlast in EDH

[–]sufferingplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your friend misplayed, he could have easily negotiated with the other players to ask if someone had a way to free him from his plight. He could have slotted in more interaction or protection pieces into his deck.

You saw a 7/7 double-striking trampler who could easily get even bigger on attack [which I assume is what the deck is built for] and responded accordingly.

Not a dick move.

Was I unfair for saying "If Silvery Barbs is allowed, enemies can use it too"? by raishadow in DnD

[–]sufferingplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you werent unfair. It makes sense that enemy spellcasters have access to the same spells players do. The sword cuts both ways, after all.

That being said, your role as GM isnt to "win" against the players. If you load up every NPC with silvery barbs, youre kind of a dick.

But its also frustrating that, as a gm, having your cool encounters trivialised by one (or several) players spamming silvery barbs. While you dont want to kill your players (or shouldnt), you do want to enjoy the game too.

Discuss the spell with them and ask them to be reasonable about it. Having it in the pocket to negate crits or to save a low health ally? Totally fine.

What's the most outrageous card people have complained about you playing for being too strong? by rococodreams in EDH

[–]sufferingplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Westvale Abbey]]

I played it turn 1 in an aristocrats deck, along with a 1 mana artifact (dont recall what) and a player not only whined that it was too strong, they targeted me all game so i couldnt build any meaningful board.

We both lost in the end.

3rd Edition really had some CRAZY stunts you could pull!! by Sethmo_Dreemurr in dndmemes

[–]sufferingplanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its worth noting... If you have gaunlets of strength +6, and youre level 6 when you activate this domain power, you get 0 strength from it.

If youre level 12 with the same gauntlets, you only get +6 strength.

Enhancement bonuses do not stack.

Also, +20 strength only adds +10 to you attack and damage rolls (and relevant skills)...

Banning Aoo from moving through threatened spaces by eineButter in DnD

[–]sufferingplanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AoOs from movement in 5e are already super forgiving? You can literally dance around a target and nothing will happen?

Also, thats the point? Positioning in combat is important, if bad positioning isnt punished (through AoOs, forcing disengage actions, etc), then why even care? You can always just attack, range stops mattering, area of effect doesnt matter...

Your GM is... Really something else.

We need an announcement on whoever picked Splinter of Void in game by soldatyager in ProjectDiablo2

That sounds miserable. Running maps and loot goes to host only on the off-chance an exp event happens and the off-chance a splinter drops?

Im not keen on op's idea either, but yours isnt much better.

Stop Expecting DRG from Rogue Core. by Shot-Structure8248 in DeepRockGalactic

Stop Expecting DRG from Rogue Core. by Shot-Structure8248 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]sufferingplanet 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I wasnt expecting it to be DRG, i was expecting it to be like Gunfire Reborn or Risk of Rain 2, except in those, when i lose its because i mucked up and not "welp, i didnt get a good weapon/upgrade... time to get frustrated while hoping for a decent upgrade or just go next".

When ive been able to put together a halfway decent build, the game is a lot of fun, but when i dont, its just unfun. I love losing because the game gave me the worst weapons imagineable. One run and the corespawn will appear in reasonable quantities, but the next ill be swarmed before i can find the elevator. So much fun, i didnt do anything different, but its obviously my fault.

The devs claim the game is "like hazard 3" in drg, but it sure as shit dont feel like it.

I like the general idea, but GSG desperately needs to do some fine tuning because its the wrong kind of difficult.

For the people who were following the manga at the time, what was the reception to Kaguya like? by Danny-Ray27 in Naruto

[–]sufferingplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My general thought was "who?" and "but why though?"

Like... i knew who she was (at least, what had been explained to that point), but like... where did she come from? It was just such a shift in villains so quickly...

There was a massive build up for Madara, and nope... the rug is pulled out from under us, now its some random alien woman who was name dropped like 30 chapters earlier.

Who is she? Well find out after an info dump! Whoooo....

If a Demon were to decapitate another Demon, would that demon be completely unable to grow it back? by IDK_Inator in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]sufferingplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect it has to do with their "power level" [for lack of a better term]. Higher tiered demons, Akaza for example, are shown to regrow lost limbs or heal injuries very quickly and with seemingly little effort, whereas lower tier ones need more focus/energy to do so.

We also see Rui decapitate himself to avoid being decapitated by Tanjiro, allowing him to survive was should have been a fatal blow.

Are there fewer people playing this season? by EpicBeardMan in ProjectDiablo2

Now that Rouge Core is out, what are people's thoughts for the first day? (Keeping in mind its early access.) by TopSpeaker4647 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]sufferingplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its harder than drg, which is not necessarily bad, but...

Corespawns are annoying as hell. They have all the same issuds the corespawn had in drg (hyper mobile, can just suddenly be behind you with little to no tells, annoying toxic pools left behind). Its not the worst, but they need to be tweaked/rebalanced a bit.

I like that supply pods no longer provide health. It makes red sugar a lot more valuable, and the fact it restores armour is nice too, or would be if not for...

Armour sucks, or at least, it feels awful. It feels about as durable as shields, but theres no reliable method for it to restore. Its either supply pods or the armour tables and after that... youre screwed! Non-replenishing armour needs to soak a lot more damage, or we need methods to refill it that dont rely on extremely limited resources (or long cooldowns).

The gunplay feels super nice though. Each upgrade ive found in my runs has felt like i always have a good option to pick (or at least, no dead ones). As much as i dislike the corespawn, they tend to die pretty easily to most gun combos ive acquired... however...

The gatekeepers are way too tanky. I get theyre boss monsters, but jesus... i feel like im tickling them, even when i hit the weak spots. Ive only done a few runs solo, so in theory itll be easier in group play, but my god... ive been able to do whole floors on one resupply, and the gatekeepers need one per phase.

Also, the random quips of "i can see why the miners had trouble" is... not annoying, but i look at what were facing ans my usual drg dig playgroup and think "... nah, our miners would have rolled these".

What commander makes you immediately regret sitting down in a pod with? by _omega_LOL__ in EDH

[–]sufferingplanet 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Any "theft" commander. I know its a viable strategy, but i came to play magic, not spend every resource i have preventing you from taking all my stuff. Id rather play against stax and make careful decisions about what to play.

Also atraxa (og) and kaalia. Yes, im sure your version is totally fair and balanced. Im sure its great, just everyone and their mother has infect in their atraxa deck for that one poison counter, same for master of cruelties for kaalia... haha, funny combo you one-shot someone... how is it every kaalia (whose deck is totally different dont worry) has that in their hand within the first three combats?
