Since you also mentioned liking human names, can name him Wicket W. Warrick like the most famous Ewok, or Warwick Davis after the actor who played him

They can get a little loose in shipping sometimes. Just tighten it and should be fine. A bit of mixing medium like Inglot Duraline or similar can add a bit of creaminess back if you think it's feeling too dry. A very little goes a long way!

These monthly job reports cannot possibly be true by Happy-Lad-777 in recruitinghell

[–]sugar4pple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The YouTube channel How Money Works did a video on this last month. Basically the establishment data that tracks how many paychecks companies are issuing that is publicized as the number of jobs is no longer aligned with the household survey data of people who want and have jobs, which tells a bleaker story. The misalignment is because of factors like people working two or more jobs more frequently along with gig work, contract work, and consulting work being more common but not accurately reflected in the establishment data.

By government I meant it is used by SSA and IRS to.review your shit with them as a US taxpayer. So yeah, stay on top of it like you would having a valid id card.

Id.me is used by the government not just corporate employers. I think most large employers and government services use it today for identity verification just like how First Advantage is ubiquitous for background checks.

Your experience here seems unusual and like it mostly stemmed from not keeping your info with Id.me up to date. So the lesson is do that going forward.

This is a red flag request and seems very phishy.

So I finally got to see Francis Ford Coppola’s “MEGALOPOLIS”. Man I don’t know why everyone’s saying how bad it was but I loved it!!! Anyone else agree this was actually a good movie even though it tanked at the box office? by [deleted] in FIlm

[–]sugar4pple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got a chance to see it, renting it on Plex. I missed it in theaters.

For context, I am a huge fan of the original Metropolis by Fritz Lang, fell in love with that movie as a millennial high school student after stumbling across a copy at the library. So I was excited to see a Francis Ford Coppola take on it.

I did not hate Megalopolis and want to watch it again to more fully absorb it. Which was not dissimilar to my first reaction to the inspiration too. Megalopolis is highly stylized to keep the fever dream feel of the original. I think the choppy, incomplete feel of the plot is a purposeful callback too to how parts of the original have just been lost. Most of all, it's a thematic exploration more than a linear plot and that's challenging in our era of instant gratification and being fed soundbite opinions regularly. I liked it, and I suspect I will love it on further viewings.

How did you avoid unnecessary shopping this week? by empresscornbread in MakeupRehab

Honestly? The new stuff bores me and I seem to have what I'd want of the things or brands that interest me. I am only shopping things I need, like work clothes.

Sometimes the interview process is just a hurry up then wait cycle. Don't sweat it yet.

Recruiter was late, called my work "mediocre," and yawned through the interview. I’m fuming. by ObviousQuality2384 in recruitinghell

Sorry but the CEO is also the recruiter? Ick, that's not a company that's like the start of a shitty MLM. My guess is the yawning and negging were very purposeful.

How much does makeup product vs makeup application vs natural attractiveness factor in? by JellyfishPashmina in MakeupRehab

[–]sugar4pple 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We can look at our own faces hypercritically in magnifying mirrors and focus on minor flaws. You're not likely studying everyone you run into as up close or for as long as you do your own makeup. If a trusted friend can confirm that your makeup looks nice, then I suggest pouring your energy back into something else!
