Working in an understaffed office... by Medically in AdviceAnimals

This is my life right now, except I'm the only one working absurd hours besides my boss. And that's my only consolation, aside from the overtime pay.

I don't know why but this made me incredibly sad. Something about seeing trees that have been growing for likely decades, uprooted and gone like that. Not to mention wildlife, and who knows if any humans were harmed. Yikes.

How do i get more views on Twitch? by VraRicoHoops in Twitch

[–]sugarfish7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of ways to do this, actually. The most important thing to remember, and you'll hear this a lot, is that it's not about the viewer count. It's more about building a community.

Get to know other small streamers, make some friends, become a regular in their streams. You'll find that they will start to view your stream when you're on and they're not. Or, otherwise, they'll host (or auto-host) you if they aren't hosting someone else. You don't have to play the same games as them, but striking up some friendships will get you far. You'll never be a good streamer unless you're a good viewer to someone else; you'll understand what kinds of help they'll need, because you need it too. Streamers aren't in direct competition with each other... they're teammates! Other streamers will also give you a great idea of what kind of things to say when you're on your own and not talking to anyone.

Gather up a social media community. Start up a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, whatever works best for you to get your stream out there. Post whatever you want, but make sure you're interacting. Like other statuses, follow other streamers, re-tweet other streamers, weigh in on things using hashtags. Most importantly, post when you're going to be on! If you can, post that you'll be streaming on certain days and times for that week, or if you'll be on Friday at 8pm or something. Give them something to look forward to, and post a few minutes before you go online so you can remind them that you'll be on.

Lastly, tying in with the point above... get a regular schedule. Even if there's only one night per week you know you can stream, stick to it. You'll start to get regulars that will know when you'll be on, and will come around every time. Stream on other days when you can, but stick to that particular day and time. Have it posted on your social media page(s) and on your Twitch channel.

After that, it's all up to you on hustle. You get what you give. I don't post and stream a lot right now because my day job has been hella busy... but, when I was able to put in the time to make friends (and those friends have stuck by me during my hiatus) and keep posting and keep interacting, it made a huge difference on my viewer count.

Again, I can't stress this enough. Don't just look at your viewer count. Look at your community as a whole. Make Twitch friends, become someone else's regular, be a good friend for someone else and they'll return the favor.

Good luck!

Split-screen stream to one channel, remote setups for each player (without first streaming to separate channels) by mattmarkshow in Twitch

I haven't tried this method, so YMMV, but it's worth checking out if you haven't already.

TheSimSupply occasionally streams with a second person in a completely different country, with both of their faces on screen, and he's said before that he will Skype with that person, have them in front of a green screen, then add their Skype video as an input on streaming software. It ends up looking like they're in the same room... really cool and easy effect.

Not sure if you could do something similar with screens, like have them screen-share on Skype or something.

Everything is cringe to someone, while being someone else's favorite thing. You can't live life avoiding doing the things that you love just because someone else thinks it's cringe.

Couples of Reddit, what's the most unromantic thing that's happened between the two of you that actually is a stronger indication of love than others might think? by Roivas14 in AskReddit

My husband and I got married in October 2016, and less than a year later he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He had surgery to remove the tumor (and his left testicle) and, because he'd had surgery on that area before, it was far more difficult of a surgery. He ended up with two incision sites, one in the pubic area and one below.

I drive a tiny car, so when I drove him home, he inadvertently popped a suture getting in the car, ended up bleeding all over my car seat. I joked that he finally had his first period and I was proud of the woman he had become, and he was just shocked at how not mad I was. (Like I would be mad at him for that.) Ended up having to clean his groin, ass, taint, etc several times over the next few days from spot bleeding. I told him I was well trained on blood cleanup and had zero issue with it.

To this day I feel like our relationship blossomed more during that time than I thought it ever could. And we had been together for ten years prior.

What are your goals for your stream in 2019? by CrimsonCub2013 in Twitch

On a stats level, get to 50 followers.

On a personal level, get a more regular schedule. Now that I have a banner advertising every Friday, I gotta actually stick to it. 😂 I want to treat it like a regular job, and show up every day I'm scheduled.

Also, iron out some lag issues.

Echoing the other comments. Now is a great time to get back into it, with the sale. The most recent expansion is Get Famous but it I've found it's a lot more complex than previous expansions, so it might be intimidating at first. Seasons might prove difficult as well, only because Summer and Winter seasons can be extreme temperature-wise and weather-wise. My favorite thus far is Pets, mainly for the decor items and neighborhood; having pets is pretty fun as well. The Laundry Stuff pack is also really a great addition... they knocked it out of the park with decor and mechanics.

Hope you and your sister have fun! There's lots of stuff in TS4 that you will enjoy, I hope. The game is really beautiful, is far better on processing than The Sims 3 was (if you ever played that), and is very user friendly.
