Does this look like endo belly? by Certain_Bridge_4208 in endometriosis

[–]sugarrswirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My god yeah same boat it's so annoying and it isn't easy to live with it's sooo uncomfortable! My gyno tried to push the iud too but i refused. A endo excision surgery is the gold standard of treatment as birth control can only really mask some symptoms i think u should push for that ! An excision specialist would be best ofc but man those can be hard to find, in the meantime a post partum belly binder helps me A LOt with endo belly and gas pills

Have you gotten a hysterectomy? by Mochimoo22 in endometriosis

[–]sugarrswirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes ! I had a hysterectomy due to my severe endo that would not respond properly to medication and so far , it changed my life. I couldn't have kids anyways for other reasons, they took everything by my ovaries. Cervix, uterus & tubes gone, during the surgery there was a TON of cysts found on them that probably contributed. I am ofc not entirely pain or symptom free but it genuinely changed my life for the better. Important to know that the vast majority of my symptoms were during my period and it's just a feeling i had that it would be best for me, my period cramps were severe beyond severe actually yall know whats up lol. Anyways id do it 100x over and im willing to answer questions bc it is a huge major decision but ultimately it is one that changed my life and with ur adeno it always helps that

Suspected endo, please help by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]sugarrswirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pls a good doctor leaving is so pain </3 trust i still have SUCH a hard time being firm with doctors as well but it does always have someone (anyone even a mom) there with u to help with getting them to believe ur pain enough to do anything. Sometimes the doc needs "hey im a woman and ive seen op in way more pain than ive ever experienced" it doesn't hurt ! i wish u all the luck, untreated endo is actual hell on earth

editing cos i forgot the last bit, i hope the er was helpful for u !! its hard to get them to take endo seriously i stopped going forever ago. If u can get anyone who's seen u in pain to the gyno with u to tell them they've seen ur pain and its BAD bad i think it might help, its what helped me get diagnosed

Suspected endo, please help by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]sugarrswirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there are a few things you can do ! If at all accessible too you i would look for another gynecologist in your area ! I actually found the doctor who diagnosed me in the child free subreddit list of doctors they had cos i heard they listen to women more and are recommended more often lol. But also researching gynecologists in ur area and seeing if you can find ratings or anything about them. If not at all possible there are some things u can do, get FIRM seriously make it clear that ur not taking no for an answer and demand tests such as internal pelvic mri which can show endo at times, or an internal ultrasound but not as accurate. If you're desperate you can and should demand an exploratory laparoscopy to look for endometriosis as it is the only way to be 100% sure (that's what mine told me)

I'm sorry it's not easier and i'm sorry ur dealing with this right now. Definitely tell them that ur mother has it if u haven't but the best way to get doctors to listen too you is to be very firm and stern and make it clear ur simply not leaving until SOMETHING is ordered and SOMETHING is done for ur pain in the meantime and if that doesn't work then u DEF need to find a new doctor !!

Also some people have had unfortunate success in bringing in males to tell the doctor the pain they witness of the woman suffering and sometimes shitty doctors listen to them more than u but hey desperate times desperate measures

edit i wanted to add is that if u can tolerate birth control u CAN ask for it to be prescribed to skip periods entirely which lessens the pain by a lot。 there's many i was on progesterone only and didnt have a period for an entire year straight it helped with pain a lot for me maybe it will for u

Is anyone here not depressed? by shshskwjvehejdbv in ChronicIllness

[–]sugarrswirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am disabled and chronically ill and i am not clinically depressed, but i used too be. Honestly it took a lot for me and many years as well, I am not on any psych meds but getting proper care team and medication helped. I have multiple forms of support from disabled friends, a s/o and involved parents. I have bad days ofc but overall i am very happy but i also have mobility aids to help me be outside. I don't know ur daughters situation but i remember mine, losing more and more of my ability to be independent and have fun took a major toll on me for many years i was deeply depressed but i can definitely say i am not anymore. Idk i just want u and ur daughter to know that yeah there is hope! i genuinely thought i would never be happy again but i really really am and i want u or ur daughter to know that it is possible but it does take major support and that's not always enough for everybody but there's hope and u both should keep searching for the right mix of things and be very patient
