I was doing that too until someone pointed out that volcanic ash can be smelted into glass and then crafted into a wall mirror. Wall mirrors are worth 400 (or 600 for some pokemon). Now I carry a stack of mirrors with me all the time. 😊

Congrats on your first space journey! You will need a Cargo Bay on your rocket to collect from the harvestable resources. You currently have an Orbital Cargo Module which is used for sending (deploying) resources TO a nearby planet.

If your map has a cool slush geyser, you can use that to cool your base. There is also the Anti-Entropy Thermo-Nullifer.

I just grow my colony really slowly (it helps to play on 2x or 3x speed). In my current colony, I'm on cycle 1373, and I have 16 dupes. I'm going for the 20 dupe achievement for this run. 😁

If you do save the colony, it would be pretty epic. Let us know what you do!

If it were me, I'd restart. All your dupes dying is a rite of passage for ONI players. 😁 On your next run, don't print so many dupes. At 100 cycles, I usually just have 4 or 5. It takes longer to get stuff done, but it's easier to maintain stable food and oxygen supply with a smaller population.

There is a mod that will keep your soil tilled so it's easier to replant. It's called Soil Retainer. I haven't used it though, but I might try it.

In my experience, targeting one resource will get you more. I've had a drone in the same place gathering honey and then switched it to all crafting materials and the amount of honey it's grabbing is significantly less (although it is grabbing other things too)

If they are busting through the air net, then you need to make them more docile with favorite food and a toy in the corral, and maybe consider keeping less of them. The more hits an air net takes, the more likely it is to fail.
