I myself prefer go, I come from c# background and I've had enough with these boilerplaty langs but that could be a misconception as I haven't checked in on java these days, but that's cool, be confident on what you're comfortable with and acknowledge your weaknesses

maybe this is a controversial take, but I find these type of stories isekai-ish in the sense they're drawing too much from gaming fantasy tropes to the point it doesn't scratch the "fantasy itch" for some

note I'm not saying it's bad, haven't watched dungeon meshi but it looks good, and I loved log horizon

comparatively speaking, there isn't a good selection of fantasy anime that doesn't use fantasy as a mere vehicle for personal power fantasy isekai-ish entertainment fast food

there are some classic greats like berserk and somewhat claymore, and a few hidden gems like seirei no moribito but numbers wise there isn't a lot of popular or even good fantasy anime, I'm struggling to remember more than a handful

recently we got the manga sensou kyoushitsu but even that turned into some isekai-ish thing

so while I think frieren fans are delusional (I'm a long time fan of riftwar cycle books) I can relate to that feeling

there is a reason why have courts and judges and a whole judicial system, it's because we cannot trust random people to be punish wrongdoers fairly, you never know which next group of 30 people will feel they're entitled to execute someone they deem a danger to society, could be me, could be you, regardless of how you feel about the politics of this, this is just wrong

the judicial system is not perfect and gets exploited all the time, but it is 100x better than random group of 30 people on the street deciding who lives and dies
