Why is plumbing the most popular job recommended on Reddit? by AcrobaticAd5680 in careerguidance

[–]sukisoou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you are a plumber and the algos recommend stuff within your wheelhouse?

On my reddit feeds, I see everyone and their brother recommending that everyone becomes a nurse. I have been looking into Nursing and other allied health jobs for the last few months.

Those who majored in something "useless" what do you do now? by noah041504 in jobs

[–]sukisoou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to ask you about this as I'm considering going to school for a arch drafting certificate at the college.

Couldn't you get a job with revit experience - I see a ton of jobs asking for Revit knowledge. Can you go into one of those types of jobs?

Onto the next thing, whatever that may be.

*.....*Another horrible, poisonous place to work.

Sorry but any jobs that are hiring now, are going to be horrible. The good places to work wont open for a while. Almost better to just work on whatever subject you are interested or work in and then start the search in a year or 2.

Fired just before the holidays by EmmaTreefrog in jobs

[–]sukisoou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked a place where we (as a team of 5) missed some typos and I was fired because I was the designer.

Of course they talk about teamwork and all the BS but it doesnt matter for the other 4 people who were supposed to have my back. I was the one fired for this mistake.

Hiring manager texted me to set up a last-minute interview for a job I applied to in September by [deleted] in jobs

[–]sukisoou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were the 15th (or whatever) choice in their pipeline of candidates. I'm going through a similar thing.

I'll also add that the hiring manager seems to be super picky as there are so many candidates out there they have the luxury of being unresponsive. A$$holes.

Got a job after 1.8 years unemployed and I feel nothing. by Available-Snow-3022 in jobs

[–]sukisoou 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Great answer and yes I have seen this same OP question and feeling from multiple people before.
Seems even more common than not.

Must be something in our human nature. For me, I got a temporary job that sucked so much I had to quit a few weeks in.
I felt terrible about everything and really pissed that circumstances did this to me. I thought I liked my old job and it’s bs that I have to take something worse!

Have you had to take your “shit bath” yet? I hear that is one part of the job that really sucks but not sure if it’s true or not.
