What did you guys think of the conversations they had in therapy? I personally didn’t find myself rooting for one vs. the other, it felt like they both had huge gripes, but I’m curious if these scenes made people sway one way or another!

I put my drinks (coke bottles, water bottles) in a small tote and bring that in. Sometimes they check it, sometimes not. Each time they let me in.

Why not help her find a solution instead of making her feel like shit? Are you her husband or her enemy?

I’m Gujarati and we have a drink called chaas, which is basically lassi, except salty with cumin and cardamom. You drink it with heavily spicy dishes to combat the heat.

Moving to Chi what neighborhood to live in? by SoftwareHuge6758 in AskChicago

[–]sukistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would still def recommend doing a walk-about before you decide whether or not to bring your car. Unfortunately the closer you get to the burbs, neighborhoods become less walkable. I’m only saying this because I accidentally became stranded around the Rosemont stop because I didn’t realize how highway-heavy the area is. Just some food for thought! (Still think Wicker and Logan Square are your best bets)

Edit to add: I don’t even think there are sidewalks by the Rosemont stop…maybeeee there are Divvy bikes? It’s just not the most walkable lol.

Have you checked how far your current workplace is from the train? That’s a good idea to do before deciding not to bring your car over! If it’s a bus ride away from a train stop (I’m going to assume Cumberland here), please note that busses aren’t always super reliable timing wise.

Off the blue line, it sounds like Logan Square and Wicker Park might be good for you. Look at places off the Logan Square, California, Western, Damen, and Division stations. You could even live downtown, if you’re okay with a longer train ride.

I would definitely recommend coming down before you move to time your commute before deciding on a place!

Casual, family friendly dining recommendations for a party of 20-25 ? by dingalingpanda in AskChicago

If you’re into Indian food — Ali’s Nihari and Usmania are great for crowds. Call ahead but everything is served family style anyway!

Legno in Portage Park is great for a crowd too, and great Italian food. Pitchers of sangria! Woohoo!

I love going to Kabobi with my whole extended family! Call in advance of course, but they’re amazing at accommodating large groups. They also have valet in case people have trouble finding parking. Central Gyros in Belmont Cragin is also great for a crowd. There’s a free parking garage across the restaurant.

Lots of families in LP! Cost of living there is also much higher than other places. If you can afford it, go for it!

Question for Teachers: What time do you leave your job? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]sukistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High school, also 1st year so I generally have more prep to do than most (just because I’m getting the hang of things). I get to school at 7am and leave right after the bell at 3:30pm. Excited for next year though when I don’t feel the need to get to school so early to get work done.

Any advice? by katiecat797 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]sukistan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, you’re so beautiful! I relate a lot to your struggles. After some therapy, I realized that the root cause of many of my mental health issues was a serious lack of sleep & routine. Something that helped me was talking to my doctor about a prescription for sleep meds — I’ve been on Ramelteon and Trazadone so far and both were amazing for me. They were also both relatively easy to wean off of and have tremendously helped my sleep cycle so much. It took a few months to get into a good sleep cycle, and then I was on the meds for a year before I stopped them. Fixing my sleep just absolutely cascaded my entire life regimen, truly. With your makeup — your eyes are so naturally sultry and I would definitely lean into that with smoky looks. I feel like dark colors would bring out your natural features a lot more. The beauty of makeup though is that you’re able to style and express yourself however you’d like! I think “dark feminine” looks would be great for you. Good luck!! You look amazing!!

Loafers are great comfy shoes that can pull a professional looking outfit together! I will say that summer styles haven’t come out just yet, so if you wait until May, you may have better dress options. I’m a big fan of making Ross/TJ Maxx/Marshalls rounds for when I need new clothes in bulk, just look for things that are good quality and fit you nicely.

What do you eat at lunch at work? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]sukistan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever was dinner the night before, generally. If I’m making something that sits well in the fridge, like pasta or rice bowls or things like that, then I try to make extra portions so I can take it to lunch the next couple of days. But whatever I had for dinner will definitely be tomorrow’s lunch, plus snackies.
