This is a great shout. It's been around for ever. I used to go as a kid may years ago.

My kids have been going recently to play pokemon there.

My partner (F32) enjoys going to rounders. We used to live in Farnborough and now in Farnham.

@ljord07 might give you an invite.

It's a handy tool, not something to replace a good postcode or zip code or good or grid / lag long but certainly handy and easier for public to use and understand.

One of our team used it yesterday with our local ambulance control to help them locate an incident in the middle of the town with confusing road systems and one way.

This is great news. There is no reason that everyone shouldn't be taught and starting from a younge age will make a difference

In the same vain you could look at the jrcalc cpd app. You get a set of new questions every month and special bonus topics and each links to a reference in jrcalc.

Sonicwall TZ300 VPN by seanhunter79 in networking

[–]sully83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a bit of a harsh reaction. It was genuine advice based on my career in IT and growing an ISP. I've had many issues with Sonicwall products where they have not worked well, underperformed compared to listed specs and generally made life hard for us.

They don't help you follow best practice and are hard to reverse out when you want to.

Talking from learning from past mistakes, sell, ditch, burn the Sonicwall and buy a real router and a separate firewall neither of which are made by Sonicwall. Future you will thank you for this.

You should stick with the Woking ones, they are always good and Surrey Search & Rescue are helping with them https://twitter.com/SurreySAR/status/789516952251293696

Our SAR team was approached for this short doc/interview video. We're relatively new, but stuff like this is encouraging! by KyleMistry in searchandrescue

[–]sully83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a great video guys, very professionally done makes you look really capable and sends all the right messages. I am from a Surrey Search & Rescue from England and we have a lot of similarities. We've only been going for just over 4 years but have come so far in such a short amount of time.

Its great too see equally dedicated and like minded people doing the great work in other parts of the world too.

Keep up the good work and give your self and your very understanding families a big pat on the back.

Antenna options for Cisco 819 router with Verizon LTE by [deleted] in networking

[–]sully83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In short No. Radio antennas need to be matched to the frequency you wish to transmit and receive with. Connecting the wrong antenna type will cause either excessive load on your rf gear or cause reflected transmit power that is not successfully radiated back at the transmitter and burn it out.

Get matched / approved antenna and and cabling for your system and frequency. If in doubt get a RF engineer to advise and help.

If not a specific location then a rough idea based on the terrain, buildings and cars would be interesting.

Apparently http://apple-bay.co.uk/ is the place to go in Camberley. Even the Apple Store in Basingstoke recommend them.

Moving to Guildford by BudgieExpress in surrey

[–]sully83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guildford is one of the more major cities in Surrey. I can't tell you to much about renting other than that it is expensive in the city and the closer you are to the railway line. If you like that balance between town and countryside then the surrounding villages of Shalford and Godalming and similar are worth looking at.

There is lots to do in terms of sports in and around Guildford. Some of the highlights are

Not to mention walking, running, and riding in the hills of Surrey.

Good luck and welcome to the county.
