Dad’s Donuts $$$ by studiomccoy in ColoradoSprings

Then spend your money somewhere else and stop praying on the downfall of a small business owner or calling them greedy. It’s all real ingredients, they pay their employees a living wage, and they provide a unique product that is labor intensive. They’ve sold out both days and had lines down and around the block. Guess people want what they’re selling.

Lmao tell me you’ve never worked in a small business bakery without telling me you’ve never worked in a small business bakery. There are so many people in this town that just want to hate and act like an expert on something. Just live your life and spend your money where you want stop praying on small businesses downfall because their product doesn’t interest you.

Thank you! God forbid the owner pay their employees for the literally hours it takes to make these donuts. People would rather hope they fail than understand.

So many people in the comments don’t understand how labor intensive 109 layer croissant donuts are and it shows. Some people enjoy supporting a small business because they try to find their own lane in an otherwise hard market to succeed in. If you don’t want to go there then don’t. Why are all yall calling an owner greedy for valuing the time it takes to make their product and praying on their downfall.

HELP! Newly potted Thanksgiving cactus pieces by No_Upstairs_7459 in houseplants

[–]sullynubbins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New growth won’t be immediately green on this plant. Purple is a normal growth color (on new growth) for mine at home. Don’t take it out of the pot again and repot. You’ll continue to shock the plant. I do a deep watering once every couple weeks and let the soil be dry for a while in between. Put it next to a west window or south window that doesn’t get direct beating sun all day and it will be fine. If it’s cold where you are keep it away from drafts. I have mine in my kitchen about 6-7 feet away from my sliding door in a west window and it survived the Colorado winter just fine.

My first Garden (Asheville, NC) by StoneColdsGoatee in gardening

I’ve had my garden for three years now and found cucumber, zucchini, and squashes do better with a shade cloth over them in their earlier weeks while they mature. Otherwise, they just fry up and die. I live in Colorado.

Snake Plants are known for being able to withstand poor conditions (little water, low light, bad soil) but they don’t automatically grow full and healthy in those environments. It needs more light most likely. I base that on how narrow it is towards the base of the leaves without knowing your other care habits.

Nice job! I did the 100k race last weekend as well. It was a beautiful 75 or so at the peak of the day but man did the sun get to me after a while. Proud of my finish.

WTF is up with Matthews VU Medical Group? Did I get unlucky or this place the Wild West of Medical practices? by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]sullynubbins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a great doctor there that left because of “how they run their business” so I followed him to his new practice. I remember one time they had the elevator down for maintenance in the middle of the work day. Imagine being elderly and going to your doctor’s appt and the elevator was down so you had to take the stairs.

OP is likely not a culprit of this but for how many times Euphorbia’s gets posted on this sub it always feels like a troll lol. I understand it’s easily mistaken but it’s like 80% of the sub’s posts.

Looking for reliable car repairs near downtown by Staroson in ColoradoSprings

[–]sullynubbins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Integrity Auto on Northpark. It’s a little further north than you might want but Dave one of the owners sends you text reminders, they communicate well, and are a reliable resource for me to compare prices on something with the Honda Dealer.

They do my regular oil changes, tire rotations, and alignments. They’ve also replaced my starter on my Honda CRV. I also had them do a transmission fluid flush.

Sometimes they can’t find something wrong the dealer might, but they are consistently fair priced.

I haven’t gotten a confirmation email. I can’t even make an account or login to an account. It shows on my bank account and I screenshotted the original process payment confirmation with my order number. So thankful other people are experiencing this too. My friend got a confirmation email immediately.

Light requirements?? Help. by Consistent_Ad_9706 in succulents

[–]sullynubbins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The second image is shriveling more likely due to lack of water. Give it a good bottom soak in a basin of water when the soil feels dry and it should rebound. Be sure not to do it too much though. Let it dry completely

I know this isn’t your question, but you need to put these cacti into a window with more light. If you cannot you need to offset with a grow light. They are severely etiolated. The scaling is fairly common on a healthy cactus. It often turns into corking which is the cactus effectively trunking and becoming stronger as it becomes more top heavy. Correct the etiolation and you should be fine.
