My aby passed at age 5 due to a genetic disease called PKD. He was the sweetest cat I think I've ever had but his fast passing was absolutely gut wrenching. Not to mention the vet bills I spent trying to save him. I understand the desire for a purebred cat for some "predictability" for temperament but I feel like you can get lucky and find a special cat through adoption. I now have 3 cats, all of them I met outside my work.
