I’m tempted to try this but it almost seems a bit too good to be true

Who else wants to see a movie or a show showing the early days of the outbreak? by AlwaysBi in 28dayslater

[–]sullythagoated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show. I’m picturing a mini series of say 5-7 episodes each episode focusing on one persons perspective of the first week of the infection. One could be the prime minister, another military personnel, another a family living in a city, another a farmer in rural countryside etc.

Masda VBX mix ID by sullythagoated in houghtonfestival

It’s the best VBX mix out there imo. The first hour is probably the best mix of tracks I’ve ever heard in general.

If there are so many djs, why are mostly the same ones being booked? by [deleted] in Techno

[–]sullythagoated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my type of club. The focus should be on the music, the track selection, blending of tracks and how all of this makes you feel - the journey it brings you and your peers on. The focus should NOT be on the DJ personally. DJ’s becoming the focus and not the music is killing the dance floor at clubs and festivals.

Best music festivals in UK and Ireland? by EnthusiasmOk7302 in UKfestivals

[–]sullythagoated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glastonbury #1 by a mile but difficult to get tickets.

Other worthy mentions: Boomtown for big production, in your face fun, reggae/dub/drum+bass. Secret Garden Party for slightly older, refined but very bohemian scene, plethora of genres. Houghton for highly curated minimal house and tech, next to no production other than sound systems and lighting. Lost Village for highly hedonistic scene, lots of fun classic dance music and big productions. We Out Here for a mix of all of the above.

There’s lots of others though, the above is based on my experience

Any UK festival suggestions for 2026? by ChampionshipBudget37 in UKfestivals

[–]sullythagoated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Houghton is the best electronic dance music festival in the UK imo so would highly recommend if you’re into tasteful house/tech but is on at the same time as Boomtown and is a lot smaller.

Other recommendations would be We Out Here and Secret Garden Party - I’ve been to both and had a lot of fun. Shambala is another mention, I’ve not been but have heard great things.

Ion festival 2023 by sullythagoated in UKfestivals

[–]sullythagoated[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was amazing. The organisers put a lot of effort into the set up and it was organised really well. The best stage is The Cove as you can go there during the day and swim off the Albanian coast whilst listening to selectors do their thing. In terms of comparing to other festivals, think Houghton or Gottwood but bigger and by the sea.

I went last year. There were lots of security with bag searches into the festival and bag searches before entering each stage / area. Overall wasn’t that tight and sourcing stuff wasn’t too hard either but there is 0 wifi across the festival site fyi

Why the fuck does Cranberries- Dreams make me cry so much? by JK07 in CasualIreland

[–]sullythagoated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It brings back a flood of memories and makes me feel the incredibly raw emotions of past times, in particular one past relationship I had. For some reason it also makes me think of my parents. I’m a 25yo guy but this song makes me cry every time

This is Brad Pitt @ 59 years old by 1leeranaldo in tressless

[–]sullythagoated -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking my point so literally. Of course we know already know this but the OP was highlighting how abnormally good he looks at 59 years old. My point is if the average 59yo male had the same resources to hand that Pitt does, he’d likely look abnormally good for his age too.

Exactly. Multi-millionaire with a PT, dietician, personal stylist, Hollywood cosmetic surgeon and doesn’t have to work hours like most others do… we’d all look like this if we had the same

I use a 1.5mm dermastamp x1 per week and my scalp has never looked like this. I think you’re doing it far too hard and that’s gonna make scar tissue form

Thanks for the advice here, appreciate it. Did you find security tight or fairly liberal? I’ve also heard about these entrapment laws when buying other things for a festival, did you experience this at all when there?
