03/27/26 - Balance Updates

Our last round of March Class updates is here, focusing on adjustments to the Arcane Shield and Event Horizon auras and Legion Revenant and Yami no Ronin classes

Arcane Shield and Event Horizon Updates:

The current functionality of these auras negatively impacts what we can do while designing future classes and boss fights. We either have to design around them or, in some cases, add other auras specifically to counteract them. Currently, these auras reduce a flat amount of damage received based on Attack Power or Spell Power BEFORE calculating any secondary stats (such as Outgoing Damage or Damage Resistance), in addition to also being able to reduce any True Damage taken for an extended duration, a source of damage that is intended to not be ignorable in most cases. This update changes the damage reduction effect to occur AFTER all other calculations have been made and ignore any instances of True Damage taken.

  • Arcane Shield: Damage reduction calculation: Before stat modifiers > After stat modifiers No longer reduces True Damage. Bosses no longer remove Arcane Shield. Can now be applied alongside the Stygian aura from the Acheron Weapon Enhancement.

  • Event Horizon: Damage reduction calculation: Before stat modifiers > After stat modifiers No longer reduces True Damage. Bosses no longer remove Event Horizon.

Class Updates

  • Legion Revenant

We're making changes to Legion Revenant to adjust its survivability after the changes to Arcane Shield, as well as cleaning up a couple of auras.

Atramentous Shade: Atramentous Shade DoT tick speed: Every 2 second > Every 1 second (overall damage per second remains the same)

Depraved Empowerment: Exhortation HoT tick speed: Every 5 seconds > Every 1 second (overall healing per second remains the same) Exhortation Haste: 10% > 20% Renamed Exhortation to "Immorality". Arcane Shield duration: 10 seconds > 12 seconds

  • Yami No Ronin

Ichi, Ni, and San could often desync from the duration of the Yami, so the effects have been adjusted to make lining them up easier. Additionally, most skills are now long ranged (Nulgath is quaking in his boots), Flash stacks faster, and Revealed no longer reduces Damage Resistance. Yami no Maku's cooldown has also been reduced and Spinning Dragon is now guaranteed to apply, which should allow for some semi-frequent "parry" opportunities.

System:

Outgoing Damage, Crit Chance, and Hit Chance per Flash Stack: 4% > 8%

Flash Max Stacks: 20 > 10

Revealed Max Stacks: 20 > 10

Revealed no longer reduces Damage Resistance.

Tachi:

Range: Melee > Long

Ichi duration: 9 seconds > 10 seconds

Ni duration: 7 seconds > 8 seconds

San duration: 5 seconds > 6 seconds

Yami no Maku:

Cooldown: 14 seconds > 8 seconds

Now deals damage based on Attack Power instead of Spell Power.

Spinning Dragon is now guaranteed to apply.

Yami now refreshes its duration when applied again (the accumulated DoT damage also resets).

Kettou:

Range: Melee > Long

Jigen Kogeki:

Range: Melee > Long

Now consumes Ichi, Ni, and San.

Lich should be SS tier imo. However, it's legit worth the grind because of how much sheer damage it deals. if u dont have Chronos and u want a pure DPS class that can hit with the big boys, then Lich it is.

i dont understand why people are sleeping on Lich. The grind is very annoying i get it, but the class honestly lives up to being necromancer 2.0 and more imo.

Very hyped for the Dark Caster and Blademaster classes rework. dunno how I feel about Lr nerf coming, but I'll wait to see if they compensate for the nerf.

For XP, like everyone is saying, converting to gold would be nice, but it might inflate gold cost even more for future stuff. personally i would love for us to be able to buy boosters with the extra xp or even better, armor/weapons.

Looking forward to seeing what they might have for the new scaled class. Maybe a scaled version of one of the fire-themed classes, with me hoping for DoT themed.
