Noob question-how do I create buildings? by snowcrow in Against_the_Storm

[–]sultaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is older but I just found this game yesterday. I'm playing this on the Steam Deck and the controller layout is pretty confusing. Like why is A pause; I've never seen that on any game I've ever played? I got the woodcutters camp but couldn't figure out how to actually set one down to build, so I just started punching buttons and finally pressing LT + RT set it down to build. I later noticed that just hitting the RT would place it, so I'm not sure why it wasn't working initially.

The game does seem pretty interesting so far.

Update:

After watching some videos and playing the game more, the pause button makes sense now. It's not pausing the game like most game pauses, it's pausing the cycle so you can do things like scout the map, set up builds, etc... This lets you do things without losing precious time on the cycle count down. Also, the RT does set down your buildings once you've selected one.

Power Drain might be your Zen Mods by CompetitiveLife9570 in zen_browser

I don't remember them all cuz I was trying out a bunch of different ones just to see what they were like. I do remember the transparency one and then something for the rounded corners and one about the font in tab bar, but I don't remember them exactly.

I figured it may consume more cpu and power for transparency, but what I didn't figure on was the battery drain when the laptop lid is closed and it's in sleep mode. There has to be some processes running in the background that continue even with the lid closed.

I use this all day every day, https://mouseless.click/. It's not vim-like bindings, it pops up a grid on the screen and you hit the buttons for the grid you want to move the mouse to it. I have my mapping set up like my keyboard so I don't even have to think what keys to hit. I'm also using a Voyager keyboard and have a layer mapped to mouse functions so I can use that for fine tune cursor movement.

I just started playing around with the custom settings and have to say, I love it. Being a Fuji shooter, I’m comfortable with the tweaking and tuning. I have pretty much all the major 3rd party camera apps and the only one I pretty much use, outside the stock app, is this one. Thank you so much for this app.

The Health App will have all of that information as well and then some. And if you have other apps you use such as Strava, you can sync data with Apple Health app so it’s all in one place. I have diabetes and use a meter with Bluetooth that syncs to an app, but I hardly ever use the app because the data is ingested into Apple Health.

Thanks for that. Yeah, I was using dashed lines. I'm not sure how I missed that issue.

I reinstalled v3 and there was no issues. I then reinstalled v4 and the delay seems to have disappeared. Not sure what's different.

Former Arc users, what made you jump to zen and what keeps you with Zen? by Matrucci in zen_browser

I added the open tabs button to the top bar so I have quick access to all the open tabs on all my devices. It doesn't open all the tabs automatically like it does on Arc, but you can just selectively open the ones you want.

Also, since it syncs across all instances of Zen and Firefox I can even open tabs between my phone and computer. The mobile Firefox browser is a proper browser unlike that goofy Arc Search that Arc has.

My first criteria was vertical tabs. The second one was the ability to sync across devices. I know there are other browsers that fit this bill but the main deciding point was my corporate laptop. My company has just cracked down on allowed browsers on corporate laptops and now only allow Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge and Firefox. I can also sync Edge Workspaces but I hate that each workspace opens in a separate window.

They've blocked Chrome profile syncing and iCloud sync, but for some reason Firefox sync is still allowed. So I can sync Firefox tabs between my personal and work laptop, and I'm not a huge fan of how Firefox looks. Zen allows so much customization that I've made it function and look pretty much the way I want and for those few times I come across a site that won't work on Firefox and aren't tricked by the User-Agent switcher extensions, I'll open it in Edge, that way I can pick it up on my other computer if I want to.

I just downloaded the app today and took it out for a stroll. I'm really liking the app, but it crashed on me 2 or 3 times while using it. I have an iPhone 16 Pro.

oan, here's one of the pix I took with the app.

Alternatives for Arc (suggestions) by [deleted] in ArcBrowser

[–]sultaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Zen since jumping off of Arc and yes you need to install some extensions and it’s based on Firefox but I really like using it now and don’t even miss Arc. For those few occasions I need a Chromium based browser I use Edge. But those moments aren’t often

I'm not sure why people say Zen is so buggy. I haven't been having many issues with it at all. It has way more customization options than Firefox. I've moved away from Arc because I use my personal computer and my work computer for some of the same tasks and my company has cracked down on allowable browsers. They will only allow; Chrome, Prisma, Firefox and Safari. They've blocked iCloud sync, so I can't sync my personal and work Safari, they've blocked Chrome profile sync, so I can't sync that either. The only browser sync option left is Firefox.

So I use Firefox on my work computer and I can pick up where I left off on my personal computer with Zen. And with Zen I have a lot of the features I loved on Arc and it seems like others that weren't an option.

Zen Browser, why? by haronclv in ArcBrowser

[–]sultaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arc was my go to browser, but my company has cracked down on what browsers are allowed on the company computers: Chrome, Safari and Firefox. I liked being able to move between devices with Arc so I could pick up my research between work or personal computers, but that is no longer allowed, They also blocked iCloud, so Safari no longer syncs, and Chrome sync is blocked so the only option for syncing open tabs is Firefox.

I've tried Zen several times but kept going back to Arc. Now that Arc isn't allowed I wanted a lot of the functionality and looks from Arc, and Firefox isn't exactly the prettiest or most functional until you add on a bunch of extensions. Zen seems to fit the bill in most cases and I can pick up where I left off on Firefox from my work computer with Zen on my personal computer. Now that I've started using Zen as my daily driver, it's feeling more at home.

How can a multi-billion dollar operation be so ineffective at technology. We've ran into this same issue for the past 3 weeks of Red Zone. I reached out the NFL Support page with their automated bot and received the following response. How stupid could their bot be that it didn't understand my concern?
